Ghostbusters and other ruined film franchises

So, after the dreadful new Ghostbusters trailer, just wondered what other dreadful fins have ruined previous classics.

The fourth Indiana Jones stands out for me.

If they are remaking Back To The Future it can't possibly be worst than the third one.

Surprised no one has said The Phantom Menace yet. I didn't think it was that bad but maybe I'm just too much of a Star Wars geek to concede it is as bad as it really is. Bit like being a Rovers fan at the moment!

Has it ruined it, or has it somehow just implied it?

Pretty sure that Back To The Future is not being reimagined/remade or such. Oddly enough (and thankfully), it's safe.

To provide a counter opinion - Jurassic World was, in my opinion, excellent

Miracle on 34th Street is another good re-make. I like the original too but Dicky Attenborough was an excellent Father Christmas.

On the subject of films....
Just paid good money to watch Hail Caesar!
A warning to all. Avoid it at all costs.
It's the biggest load of tripe I've seen in ages.
I can't begin to describe how much this rancid, turgid, unfunny mess of a film stinks to high heaven. I would have left after an hour but the bride  wanted to stick with it, which she now regrets.

Right after posting the above I went to Scunthorpe.
The last two paragraphs are spookily similar to my feelings about that an all.
