I think you have to give some credit to the leave campaign really. At least they admit they lied, whereas the remain campaign are now lying about lying.

Another victory for the democratic process.

The Emergency Budget was badly played. But it has truth at the core of it.

If we do end up significantly poorer as a country as a result of this (and there isn't a credible economist anywhere who says otherwise) then in the short, medium and long term, we WILLhave to cut public spending or raise taxes.

There's no getting away from that. It's simple maths.

Osborne stupidly overplayed that hand but it doesn't change the basic facts.

Mind, it's a tiny crumb of comfort seeing Sajid Javed squirming on that issue. He's another bare faced chancer who was an Outer as recently as February and who will no doubt be re-building his bridges with the Outers to make sure he's in the next Cabinet.

I suppose you have to give credit to someone who tries to defend someone else who can't defend himself.

Well done Billy.

It's enough to make one wonder if that sort of scaremongering narrowed the gap of the outcome of the result though.

I'm sure it did BB.

Trouble is, most of it wasn't "scaremongering". The Emergency Budget thing was, but the rest wasn't. It was honest, transparent expert assessment.

And that's probably the worst thing to come out of this process. We're not to trust expert opinion anymore. We're to assume, in the absence of evidence, that anyone who presents an analysis that says what you don't want to hear is a liar or has been bought off.

Not the sort of society that I want to be honest. That leads to Very Bad Places.

Another Weasel of the highest order who is incapable of answering a simple straight question.

I can guess what he has been doing since 0700 on Friday morning though as he started almost every answer with that - a classic time wasting tactic.

I watched for 4 minutes and hope Andrew Marr would just say " Sorry you are not answering the one simple question - so Good Morning" and end the futile interview

Somwhere between all the statements made, lies the truth. Almost everything was exaggerated by both sides, it was a pitiful display by both sides.

That's the point though - how may folks on both sides would have voted differently if the campaigners had been truthful on such an important vote???

That is a very important point, both sides have been told porkies.
