Watched him several times now, looks a class act, think he's going to be a great addition if we can make it permanent.. On the flip side what does fergy see in Middleton?? By far the weak link in the side, constantly giving the ball away and hardly put the foot in.

Raggy, agree about Houghton, disagree about Middleton, let's hope the bigger clubs lay off Houghton in January.
Middleton is being watched by a championship side so must have something,he has played well in the last month and is going to be a good player when he gets more experiance, the same with Calder, and Wright.

Houghton looks a very good player. He would be well served taking a leaf out of Marquis' book who is excelling in a settled set up where he is wanted and appreciated. Same goes for Houghton here. Definitely someone we should look at longer term.

Middleton didn't do a lot wrong either.

I like Middleton but his position is the one that Houghton is doing so well in
He was ordinary today

Houghton does a great job for the team without doing anything spectacular.
Agree that Middleton was ordinary today but no one excels every week do they.

not sure about Middleton yet, think he might struggle to get in the side when we get a defender back and Blair is pushed further forward.

Houghton yet again my MoM, does his job quietly and efficiently to the extent that you don't notice him. No chance of us signing him but hope that we can extend his loan in January. If not he will be badly missed. JMHO

He's doing a great job in a position where we have lost McCullough and Keegan.  I think Middleton is better as a defensive midfielder than going forward.  We need one of our proper defenders to play RB too so Blair can get forward.

Houghton is doing a great job I think.

Houghton is fast becoming one of our most important players, doing exactly the right job in that position.

Middleton has really improved the last few weeks too. He was superb at Morecambe and did nothing wrong today, especially considering he wasn't quite fully fit.

Agree on Houghton he's got better every game did a lot of the tricky stuff in midfield today and looks to have really settled.

A lot of this is good coaching and management though. Ferguson has clearly got good balance in there.

I think on Middleton he's improved but has work to do to make the level he wants to be.  I think his weakness is the final shot. Can he add goals? Add that and he's a future much above our level.

Middleton in his time with the youth team and in the development team never played as a defensive midfield player. He always played right or attacking central midfield. It's only since we lost Keegan that he was tried at defensive midfield. For me the position he played today is his best.

Yes scottish championship.. I think he is steadily improving. He isn't quick enough to play near the strikers, defensive midfield suits him.

Think houghton's an unsung hero in the team as for middleton for a young lad hes slow and his shooting yesterday was a joke esp  the one in the 1st half  with a free shot at goat and couldn't even hit the target
