I thought it looked really empty in the pub and concourse pre match and likewise in the ground. I put it down to bring the week before a lot of people's last payday before Xmas.

Weird really, it's great watching us this season. My last game until 2017 will miss it a fair bit.

What is more of a concern was that folks were leaving from as early as 73 minutes..  It wasn't that bad a game, not great by any means, but not bad, and there were still goals in it..

I get we were running a few minutes late and folks might have buses and trains to catch, but 73 minutes?? Really??

Around 4300 from Donny.  Very poor and despite our league position,  we still have plenty staying away.

Any attendance where we drop below 5000 home fans is disappointing. I am hoping the club do a ticket deal for the Portsmouth game. With it being a Thursday night on sky just after Xmas, we should make it something like £10 a ticket for adults and free for under 16s to get a decent enough crowd in.

That would be common sense, be humiliating otherwise all the empty seats on TV otherwise.

I've left a game as early as the 60th minute before - Farsley Celtic vs Stevenage in the Conference Premier in January 2008. It was a thrill-a-minute 0-0 live on Setanta Sports (yes, it really was televised).

The 2-2 game between Altrincham and Woking, a week later, also on TV, was much more entertaining.

I also left early when watching Scawsby under 9's v Woodlands girls

However it was abandoned due to a bit of rain. It bloody stopped ten minutes later.

Seemed to me that there were more than a few that weren't dressed for that game today - sorry but I left on 88 mins as was freezing to death . Those around us were complaining more about the cold than the performance ....Yes I just missed the goal !
It was all my fault  you see. Slightly surprised at the crowd today but lots of other sport going on today .

I have got no real issue with that, and when folks have genuine reasons.  If someone has to work on a saturday evening and must be driving away by 5pm then I can understand nipping out a few minutes before the final whistle to get away. I can understand that if the game is running late then those minutes may be a few more, but 73 minutes FFS??

If fans are going to leave after 73 minutes, why bother going in the first place?

I think a lot of people are still on a "wait and see" basis with rivers.  We have done far more to loose fans rather than keep them over the last 5 years or so.

I would think that things will get better as long as we stay near the top after xmas

Personally I never leave before the final whistle unless it's something urgent.

But you can't condemn those that choose to - mates of mine are shift workers and often they have to choose between attending for part of the game or not coming at all.
I know which one I would choose and it wouldn't be staying away.

Well, we're approaching the Christmas shopping season. Whether we like it or not, that's the reality of what we're competing against.

At this rate though, we will see some improvement in the new year when promotion starts to look more likely.

Judging by a comment from DF yesterday, looks like he's got something up his sleeve for January. I'm sure he'll have been given the backing to invest in some quality. Maybe having half an eye on next season too.

I can understand to a degree, especially about shift workers, but the clock was on 73 mins and a few seconds when I saw folks leaving yesterday.  With the added on time that is at least 20 minutes, not far off a quarter of the game.

We aren't exactly competing with well supported teams,  barring one or two in this division.

We should be pulling in more than what we are.

It's poor. 5000 lost fans since 2009. This was our first home game for a while.
Leeds are doing better. The part timers who switched to us have probably gone back to Leeds.

I think us supporters can do our bit. Encourage friends and family to give it a try.

The last couple of years there was the danger that they would see a real turkey but most games this season have been really entertaining.

how much has todays attendence to do with Man Utd v Arsenal being on the box at 1-45pm people watching at home or in the pub . same with mid-week european games, at one time mid-week games brought higher attendances , but not any more when you can watch Man City etc. me i am at the Rovers but know many who arn`t
