His all round game against Orient was his best by a mile. The run in the team playing 90 minutes every week is showing. He doesn't look like a dog on  a hot day after 10 minutes of the match as much

Whilst ever he continues to perform and produce as he is he keeps the shirt for me.  We already have bitter experience of Williams' scoring inconsistency.  And Mandeville doesn't have that annoying habit of stopping to curse the football gods whenever things don't go for him.

I for one have no problem with Williams visibly expressing frustration - it shows he cares IMHO.

It is what Fergie will want, selection dilemmas for good reasons!

I am pretty sure Williams will come off the subs bench on the hour winning or losing -- fergie  would be on a hiding to nothing if he started and got injured

common sense rules the day

when rovers first started playing stevenage (non league)  for some reason there was "friction" between the times remember sky sports allowing the world to watch it for free on the sky sports news channel -- the free bit only ever happened once -- after that it was pay time

Probably due to us poaching their manager. That worked out well, didn't it?   :s

Last time Williams had competition (Keshi) didn't it bring the best out of him?

Funny you should mention his antics of throwing his arms in the air in frustration. At first it seemed a bit OTT and a plea for sympathy, but having watched him more closely off the ball, he does it when other players go close etc. That's just how he is, and perhaps like you say, he does genuinely care.

He does it in training a lot too apparently, especially when he misses one on ones.

Wignall did a decent job under trying personal times. A fair few of the players who did well under Penney were signed by him. We were very well organised defensively we just didn't score enough goals. His part in our success is very underrated. His team were the start of us being serious challengers for promotion.
Was Wignall not liked by our supporters on the whole?. Yes he didn't quite achieve what we wanted him to but he set a solid base for Penney's reign.

It would be a kick in the teeth if Williams walks into the side over Mandeville and could knock his confidence.  If Mandeville don't score on a game a willo comes on and scores then he wins the shirt imo.

We were nothing more than mid table plodders under Wignall
