We wouldn't take 4200 to Grimsby even they did allocate us that much. Next season Grimsby wouldn't do either. The novelty will wear off for them.

The away end at Grimsby is shocking as well.

As are most away ends, in my experience anyway.

Really pleased that there will be a good atmosphere for this game, as, let's face it, the away attendances in this division are nothing short of abysmal.

Good to see Grimsby back in the league and they are doing well. Just a bit inconsistent, but that may improve (hopefully after Christmas)😉

We will sell out though.  Easily if it only holds 1900.

This fixtures is a bit like when we played Wednesday and Barnsley for the first time in the league for years and we took 5500 to both.  Like you said the novelty soon wears off.

If you're over 6ft tall don't take anything below your knees. There isn't the room for them and from anything more than ten rows back you can't see the other end of the pitch. Shithole

Compared to Belle Vue, Blundell Park is like Wembley my Yorkshire chums!

Morning All, Grimsby fan here in peace!

You could say the club have messed up allowing 4 tickets per ST, and with us having over 3000 ST holders, this was always going to happen...

the club knew that this fixture was talked about from the moment we won promotion, as this replaced our Lincoln fixture as such.

not sure on the 'Cup Final' that some are saying, its merely the fact we are happy to be playing the likes of yourselves, and Pompey etc, instead of travelling to Eastleigh and Welling etc.

We are a club which is currently on a high, with a new manager who is ticking all the boxes, and sitting just outside the play-offs after some expecting a relegation battle.

i wouldn't expect much trouble for this game, as many of the 'Hooligans' wouldn't off been able to get tickets.

expect us to be loud and proud off the pitch, and hopefully we turn up on the pitch as well!

Agree with all of the above except the part about trouble and hooligans in attendance. I'm Lincolnshire based and have seen first hand the trouble between Lincoln and Grimsby fans in their fixtures in recent years and this game replaces that match up for the Codheads. In fact it could be worse because of the cock up by GTFC.

What are the large number of season ticket holders who've bought 4 tickets doing with the other 3? 1 for themselves but who have the other 3 gone to? Plus wasn't there some trouble between the 2 of us a few years back in a pre season or cup game?

Any Grimsby fans looking for trouble wl probably find it.  Heard rumblings of some of the Donny based Leeds hooligans being in the town centre that day.

Who cares. Leave those who want to kick each others heads in to it.

Hopefully it'll all be well away from the ground but I won't be taking my six-year-old lad to this 'un. Which is a bloody shame but I'm not risking it.

Mike if you park at the ground there will be a cloud of police there at the ground so should be safe

The area between town and the ground is too big for them to police. It was only recent they realised to stop letting away fans down the alley to Hyde Park. Donny youth and police have been on a chicken run on numerous occasions these past two seasons. They're f**king clueless. Never seen a big police presence round the ground. They'll pick the roughest looking group of codheads, escort them to the station and leave the rest to do what they want.

If you park Lakeside way towards the South of the stadium, you should be fine. I'm taking the young 'un.

Mr Frost makes a good point - going around Lakeside it is rare I have seen visiting supporters walking or parked there.

But how do you choose the roughest looking out of a load of folk from Grimsby?

But yeah I always park towards the roundabout along from the one next to the ground, I can count on one hand the amount of times I've seen an away fan out that side of the ground.

Thorne, Stainy and Kirk Sandall Train Stations could be interesting that day, unless they all get on the Manchester Airport train that does n't stop at those stations

A home and an away end at Grimsby? Back in the day we climbed over the fence and moved to the end behind which we were kicking, in the 2nd half, the Grimsby fans moved out sharpish!

Really looking forward to this game. I'm going with my dad (GTFC fan but lived in Donny for over 40years). I've been to a number of big days out with him watching Grimsby at Wembley and the fans have always created a brilliant atmosphere. Now I'm repaying the favour by taking my dad in the black bank and letting you enjoy watching a club on the up

The on-line ticket sales show that there are still 4990 unsold seats.

So take away the Grimsby allocation (4000) and East stand segregation (250) and the 3 unused blocks in NW stand (1000)

So that leaves about 5000 sold to DRFC fans as a rough estimate.

That's not bad, i'm hoping there will be more than that come 12.30 saturday. If the ticket office are continuing with this stance of 'database only' for the Grimsby game, I can see the queues not moving as fast. Probably a few numpty Grimsby fans in the queue too chancing their luck. It's probably sensible to order online and collect on the day.

Got to praise the new online ticket system though, so much easier than the old one. And it actually recognises i've got a membership card too for the first time in a while which is a bonus.

Got mine online this morning, seemed to be less choice than normal 3 days before a game, for the west stand cat A sections.  Still seemed plenty left, and I didn't look at other sections.

I just went back on and hovvered over the different sections.. Looks to be at least 4,000 seats or more still available.

Just seen on DRFC Facebook that there no cash turnstiles on the day.

As this been publicised elsewhere local press, radio or in the French gate centre.

Supporters turning up and having to queue at the ticket office.
