Four League wins on the bounce
« on December 03, 2016, 05:57:58 pm by Dutch Uncle »
Last achieved in 2012-13

Last time we had 5 league wins on the bounce was 2006-07, and only achieved 5 times since 1982 (including once in the Conference)

Great effort and table looks amazing.......until we get to goals against column, there are only 5 teams with a worse defensive record than us
A few tweaks needed?

when you look at the table here

http://www.statto.com/football/teams/doncaster-rovers/2016-2017/table

apart from Wycombe and Rovers  4 in a row you see a mish-mash almost random chaotic pattern of results

Plymouth and Newport won 3 in a row out of their last 6 matches

also their don't look to be many DRAWS ???

anyhow the 4 goals are a big help to "target 100" goals

any outsider would think rovers are hustlers -just doing enough

To be 8 points in front of 4th at this stage is big. We might need that cushion though as this will be a tough month.

Just hope we can continue to be ruthless enough!

Stitched on bet of the moment came up again
£5 Rovers win with both Team scoring @ 3/1 = £20 back

Then same bet Arsenal @ 21/10 = £15.50

Dutch Uncle and his elfs have got their work cut out this season because we will break all kinds of records by the end.

Well done again Pap, begging letters on the way, 12x £15.95 for the 20th.

Brilliant that we play entertaining football and score so many. The manager needs to make a point to the players about how you control a game when three up. We lack pace at the back on the break so stick an extra defensive midfielder in there for insurance away from home.

Barnet are the only team unbeaten in last 6 games. Wycombe and Blackpool and Yeovil are the others who have a decent sequence.

Hope we stay unbeaten for some time yet, as we have some tricky games coming up.

We played worse when he took Mandeville off and brought Keegan on. Also I know he needs to protect Copps but without him we tend to play like headless chickens.

Once we got back to 4-2 we should have been looking to control possession. Instead we went hunting more goals and kept giving the ball away.

For me the subs were the wrong way around. Keegan should have come on later-i would have brought Williams on for Mandeville around the time of the Coppinger sub.
Once Coppinger goes off we lose a lot of threat to play a pass and the passing becomes ragged. Him and Rowe control things for us in there. I'm a great believer that you don't change what got you in front in the first place. We're not good enough to replace Coppinger so early with a 'destroyer'. Williams/Mandeville was near enough like for like.

..... but tbf (to me) I am being charitable and telling everyone "up front" !

We may keep a clean sheet soon though and that probably will be the beginning of the end for this system !

Going by his record at Peterborough, we always knew there would be lots of goals at both ends.
