There's ways and means to unnerve McCormick in the return game without fans having to run on the pitch or anything which can be severe enough to get them into trouble.

It's a case of whether DRFC have a player, who has no boundaries in wanting to get a result, and is prepared to be a Marco Materazzi to either get McCormick or one of his team-mates sent off.

Why not just target a 4-0 win and make sure we do it ! That will get up their noses

The bloke has served his time for what was a terrible error / mistake / lack of judgement and society say (and I make no judgements) that he is now allowed to continue with his life FREE to pursue whatever career he can get or hold down

It is a terrible thing he did but others have done as bad / worse / similar and are rehabilitated. There may be people posting on this very board who have spent convictions but the Law - OUR - Law says that when you have done your time you are afforded the chance to start again

I go back to his crime - which was against the Law and for which he was rightly "slaughtered" but how many of those doing that have a) driven when drunk or potentially just over the limit b) have driven after a late night binge early the next morning c) used a Mobile Phone when driving SINCE the law changed to make it illegal d) exceeded the posted Speed limit - say by doing 40mph in a 30 zone

If you recognise yourself in even one of those above then you are one incident from being him ! Dont misunderstand my post I AM NOT defending what he did (which was indefensible) merely pointing out that the next Luke McCormick might just have read this post. Wont happen to you ? That's what he thought I bet

The key thing is that he has demonstrated remorse for his actions both publicly and privately. I believe that he actively engaged with charities relating to his crime. Doesn't make him a saint but it's the best outcome

Young Pineapple Head too had a serious bit of previous while he was at the Rovers. And my all time face centre half as well. He's so fave I can't remember his name right now, but the small Scottish thug we had early in the Conference who outjumped most forwards and thumped half of them into the bargain too.

And in any case I'd argue killing someone is worse than indecent exposure.

Drugs, tax dodging, even scrapping in town are things I can look the other way at. I'm training to be a teacher so any criminal activity at all and I'd never be let anywhere near a classroom. Footballers should have a bit more leeway, but some things are a step too far. If McCormick had been sober and focused on the road and the crash happened, then I'd be sympathetic, because accidents do happen. As it is, he got behind the wheel of a car, drunk, and this resulted in two kids dying. That's not acceptable.
