There has to be a well publicised early offer for this. To see less than 5000 home fans on sky again for a top of the table clash would be embarrassing

I 100% agree with you on this. Even if we need to be giving tickets away. We had the excuse of Thursday night/just after Xmas/freezing cold for the Portsmouth game but a similar turnout will be terrible.

I notice Oldham did a deal recently of buy a ticket for a game and get a free ticket for the next.

Maybe we could try that with the free ticket for Plymouth? and accept any money lost on tickets will be made up with TV money?

If we can't drum up interest for this one, then we might as well never bother again.

Interesting to see Mansfield taking over 3500 to Notts County last week. I'd love to see the day we take that many to an away game again. Just proves it can be done, no matter what your fan base.

WAs it not more than they got at their previous home game?

Interesting ish that grimsby's home crowds haven't exactly been great despite the 4k they brought here.

Bad news clashing with an England game though I have to say.

There are two issues here IMHO...

The match itself - at the moment two leading promotion contenders going head to head in the latter stages of the season.  That itself should be an attractive option regardless of ticket offers or promotions.  Anyone with a slightest interest in Rovers, or even neutrals, will know how the table sits and what they may expect from this game.  OK it may be a different table in a few weeks and in a couple of months when the game arrives, but now this is a fixture to look forward to.

Therefore in that respect the game is self-promoting, or doesn't require any more marketing than any other fixture - we are discussing this now when it is 9 weeks away!

The second issue is about offers.  I agree this is an ideal fixture to have a ticket promotion, especially to counter the TV coverage.  I agree if there is to be such, then that needs promoting.

I'll get to 3 games only this season; Cheltenham, Nottingham County and Leyton Orient...back just before the Plymouth game. At least I'll get to watch another online too now :)

And in future you will be able to do this all the time, maybe as early as next season.

In what way is it embarrassing? To who? Who gives a shit what it looks like in the ground to people watching on television?

Agree with the general consensus that it shouldn't need promoting, but it's a wasted opportunity if it isn't.
What I would suggest is that anyone who buys a ticket for either the Cheltenham or Notts County game, gets an identical ticket free for the Plymouth game, be it adult, concession or child. This should promote an increase in attendance at either the Cheltenham/Notts game and would definitely increase the Plymouth attendance. Also, for season ticket holders let them use one of the vouchers at the back to fetch a friend for free. All empty seats are a lost revenue so anything it will cost the club would be recouped on TV money and extra sales on refreshments and programmes etc. Hardly anything to lose and a lot more to gain I would suggest.

Is there a change coming? Able to stream games by club soon?

Irrespective of the attendance and what the ground might look like on telly, it is what goes on on the pitch that counts, isn't it??

Yes, there's a FL project whose name escapes me, but reading my notes from the last meeting I wrote down the 'ability to stream overseas'. The current contract with their existing supplier expires in 2017 so I'm assuming the new supplier has this as part of their commitment, an upgrade on Rovers Player if you like.

Aye, I'd be much more embarrassed if we were walloped 4-0 than if someone half watching from their front room in Nuneaton occasionally got glimpses of red plastic.

He's always being embarrassed by being a Rovers fan.  Should follow one of the several Massive club so that he doesn't need to feel embarrassed.

It's probably just  over 12 miles from Mansfield to Notts County, and it has a direct bus link it's just like playing a home game!

Our attendance looks worse on TV as the main camera is a bit like Berlin used to be: in the West looking at the desolate East.

I thought those in "our" East were the fortunate ones with Prawn Sarnies etc - whereas in the West we have only Pies that a) you cant buy cos the queues are too long and b) you DEFFO cant win !

To date, Doncaster have been lucky with their injuries and suspensions.

I don't see them maintaining the same degree of dominance that they are currently doing.

Argyle
Carlisle
Doncaster

Barnet to play Pompey at Wembley to win the play-offs.

.... and how can a Team be lucky with suspensions ? If a player persistently fouls (except Ander Herrera of course) or gobs off all the time (except Rooney of course) they deservedly get Cards which turn to Red or tot up to a ban.

I cant see how you can be lucky with suspensions unless you clog people and rack up Cards just before they reach an amnesty

I can see how you can be lucky WITH suspensions if you dont get done when you should - examples above plus Plymouths own Keeper who should have had a yellow at the very least for lording it over Liam Manderville after his Penalty miss
