April
« on January 22, 2017, 03:34:41 pm by Alan Southstand »
Of all the games we've got between now and the end of this season, by far the worst series of tricky games comes in April. All the more reason to get Lund, MacSheffrey and ATS ready and able to step in.

I can more or less see where our 'nailed-on' 3 points are going to come from (if there is such a thing) but predicting anything from April is, to say the least, tricky.

Hopefully, by the end of March, we're in the box seat, then there is no added pressure.

Grimsby Town v Doncaster Rovers   Sat 1 Apr

Doncaster Rovers v Mansfield Town   Sat 8 Apr

Colchester United v Doncaster Rovers   Fri 14 Apr

Doncaster Rovers v Blackpool   Mon 17 Apr

Wycombe Wanderers v Doncaster Rovers   Sat 22 Apr

Doncaster Rovers v Exeter City   Sat 29 Apr

You are worrying about nothing. Take each game as it comes along and go for the win.
Most teams in this league can't live with us.
Rovers have got the bit between their teeth now and there is no stopping us.
Winners winners winners, the same mentality as 2012/13 but this team play more expansive football.

Hopefully, we'll be up then although the title may be up for grabs.

Not worried at all, but thought it worthy of at least taking notice of.

Believe me they are all far more worried about us.

I am firmly in the one game at a time camp.. any fixture could prove difficult regardless of the opppnents relative position in the table..

Between now and April we will have played another 12 games, unless any are postponed.  By then we should have between 82 to 86 pts.  Therefore all the games we play in April will rubber stamp us as Champions.

I don't see ATS stepping in anywhere.  I'd rather play with ten men.

Are you having a laugh or something. You claim you haven't moaned about anything Rovers.
You have just done it again.
Poor ATS what has he done wrong, he hasn't kicked a ball in anger this season yet has he ?

I don't think we need to fear anyone in this league. We need to show them respect, but I think we are head and shoulders above all those teams. They are a potential banana skin - but every team is now. Wothoutvtaking amything for granted, at just past the halfway point we are already 15 points clear of the closest team. We have great competition in the squad, up front especially. The mentality of the squad is right and everyone wants to make a name for themselves. We have nothing to fear.

"I can see where our nailed on three points are coming from".

I wonder how many Liverpool fans thought that about the Swansea match or even Rochdale fans about the game against Oxford?

Bit of selective quoting, hound. I did qualify my statement in the bracketed comment.

Not wishing to put a dampner on peoples expectations but let's not forget our performances at Christmas. Played poorly against Notts C but scraped through and we were so poor at Mansfield we were lucky to come away with a point. Play like that against better teams and our points tally would be zero, however my pre-season bet is looking good at the moment

He didn't kick a ball in anger last season either which was half the problem.

Yes it was Alan.
Apologies if it came over wrong.
I was simply trying to show that there is no such thing as a game you are guaranteed to win.

You need to lighten up because all this pent up anger you show towards a club you supposedly support can't be healthy. PLEASE PLEASE say something positive about our great club.
We are top of the league did you not know. ENJOY IT

He'd have probably enjoyed kicking a couple if he'd met you. 😉
