Do Rovers inspire teams to go on a winning run ?p
« on January 26, 2017, 12:39:26 pm by Colemans Left Hook »
3 teams in question

Barnet
Wycombe
exeter

rovers were murdering Barnet 2-0 and won "lucky ?" last minute goal 3-2

rovers then played wycombe who were a rabble and drew 2-2

then rovers were losing 1-0 at exeter  who hadn't won at home since BST posted on here (guessing)
before Mandeville gave Marquis a good telling off & won 3-1

at the time i was totally convinced the bottom 2 in the league would be Barnet & wycombe

so all 3 suddenly showed MASSIVE improvement after playing Rovers

conclusion
with hindsight rovers had much harder matches at the time than we all thought !!!

He appeared to stop posting around the same time some posters on here found out his real identity. I wouldn't have thought the two things were linked but you never know.

you'd have thought whoever spent time trying to figure out who he was had better things to do. I'm sure all they had to do was ask - a lot of people on here knew who he was for years.

Was he a famous fan or something? Didn't think we had those. Clarkson perhaps?

Not true for Barnet at least. They won only 2 of their next 8 games after playing us.

I've not looked because it's the biggest load of shite I've ever read on here but I'd guess one is basing it on league games and one on all competitions. What pointless nonsense anyway.

Wycombe was the best team we have played here

I said to my Dad at half time that Wycombe were the worst team I had seen us play... ever( i have been going since 1975) admittedly that was blatently a lie and it was for effect to highlight just how poor they were.  They improved somewhat with the introduction of Akinfenwa but are someway from the best.  Carlisle? Pompey?

Wycombe were dreadful.
which shows the effect of "rubbing shoulders" or should I say "pulling shirts" with the "elite"  of the league

Hope that happens with Yeovil, play us and then go onto beat Plymouth on Tuesday.
