Personally I don't find it odd that a referee from Plymouth should do one of our games at this stage of the season. A few questions might be asked if it was later on and the promotion race was tight.

Are the powers that be so stupid. Why have they put themselves in a position yet again that if there are any controversial decisions tomorrow they leave themselves open to huge criticism for appointing a Plymouth ref.
Total incompetence in my opinion.
I forgot only League 2 football so it doesn't matter does it?

Whats controversial about it!! You do all know that Plymouth is over 76miles from Yeovil as the crow flies. That's a similar distance as Doncaster to Coventry why would there be any bias towards Yeovil.

As I pointed out earlier though, I don't think the powers that be consider these things until we get to the business end of the season.

Interestingly the assistant referee Darren Cann was originally appointed to Crystal Palace's FA Cup tie this weekend. Then it was pointed out that he's a former Palace youth player and has not done any Palace games. He's now going to be at Tottenham.

Does sound like a  conflict of interest. But given the circumstances, he might try to be fair as possible, so we might benefit from some of his decisions, that might not otherwise been given.

Pretty sure I've read somewhere that Wakefield is the largest city thats never had a Football League team.

The 333.000 you are quoting for Wakefield is te Met Borough Council.
That includes Dewsbury, Batley, Pontefract, Castleford and surounding areas.
