I was not impressed with Williams turning his back on the ball with their goal.

My old man pointed it out to me at the time. Any other player in the team would have known how to defend that situation properly.

Did you see their 11 was having a pop at Marquis after our goal.

I have no doubt that Marquis probably started the aggro off but the thing I like about him he knows when to walk away.

I'm a fan of Williams and would always defend him but I thought he bottled it a couple of times today at key moments.

He had a 50-50 with the keeper which I thought he chickened out of when he could have attacked the ball and scored. Marquis would have done so.

Their no 11 is Kevin Elison ex Chester city played against kus in conference and is 37 yrs old. Must have had an axe to grind as was trying to wind most of our players up from start to finish.

I rate Williams but not as a defender, he will get a lot of stick for that pathetic effort of defending and he deserves it. Winding players up is all part of the game and Marquis is one of the best at it.

They had a scuffle about ten seconds before the goal,

Williams was piss poor today, he'll be on the bench next week and rightly so, not taken his chance this last month

It (Ellison) started in the first couple of minutes when he pushed his forehead into the face of our player.

Marquis is a brilliant WUM... so pleased he's on our side!

And hey, 18 league goals and counting.

What a signing.

Why anyone rates Williams is beyond me,what the hell does he do?
Never like to be negative to a rovers player but start with Mandy  :)

No one was knocking Williams when he was scoring goals.
He has hit a period when it isn't going for him. His work rate is very good and it will change for him.
GET OFF HIS BACK AND SUPPORT HIM ,oh why oh why do some of you have to have a scapegoat or just someone to have a go at.
WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE good job we are not at the bottom.

Not a scapegoat for me, I've never liked his style.
A lot of folk on here seem to think he works hard, which is fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion but I just don't see it.

He worked his arse off against Crewe, did everything but score and came damn close on a few occasions. He's a good player is Williams but he has runs, he either hits the net with every shot for half a dozen games or he has an off spell where nothing goes for him for a while. Right now it's the latter but he'll turn it round.

At some point Williams will start scoring goals again and they will hopefully be one's that are badly needed when it's a tough tight game. That is when he will come good. I don't see a lack of effort yes he get's frustrated with himself because he expects himself to do better.
He isn't doing what he should be but he's still putting a shift in and being of use to the team. This fella is capable of scoring goals of many different types he just needs one to go in then plenty more will follow.

Williams "scored" an offside goal and then drew a great save from their keeper just before half time.  Oter times he didn't do as well.

He just needs one or two of those to go in..

No scapegoat for me either, we are all Rovers aren't we! Would love to see him start scoring again & when he crosses the white line he gets my full support, but, he does himself no favours pulling out & not being fully committed in challenges, there is no disputing his scoring ability & is probably the best finisher at the club, but his overall play doesn't impress me at all, just my opinion of course.

Was it judged offside correctly ? Maybe someone in line with the incident and objective can fill us in !

We weren't quite inline , but everyone around us thought he was off side.

Does Marquis enjoy playing with Williams ? i would think he does, yes Williams turned his back for the goal, but give him some credit for being back defending,he did twice as much work as Ellison, it is only a matter of time before he starts scoring again.

We had no problems with any of the East stand lino's decisions , except the one near the end when their player seemed to be a least a yard off , before Lawlor blocked his shot.

We wouldn't be talking about their goal if their player hadn't scuffed his 1st attempt and then got the luck of the bounce. Williams had jumped, and who doesn't turn their back, to block the 1st mishit. Good finish with the eecond attempt though. Williams  might not be the bravest of the brave with his challenges but I think Marquis and Williams is the better combination if you are playing 2 up front, I also think that Marquis prefers Williams alongside him than Mandeville. JMHO

I think with Williams it is a case that Marquis knows where he will be. Mandeville is a different kind of player who moves around a lot. You are as likely to find him out wide as in the box.

In many ways I see Mandeville as the heir to Coppinger. Still lots to learn of course but in a couple of years he could take on the Coppinger role full time. Assuming he's still here, of course.
