Are our new official partner, does that mean they've dumped the blades?

Wouldn't have thought so, loads of firms do things with more than one club. Just look at One Call with us and Mansfield.

A club of our size having an official airport partner is odd. If we're getting more income though I'm happy.

Wish they'd stop calling it Doncaster Sheffield, it's got feck all to do with Sheffield, they had an airport and cocked it up. It's Doncaster.

Also I think the Blades offer tickets to Malta or somewhere like that as half time draw prizes because of the links.

The term "official partner" is just the new word for a sponsor that sponsors nothing I think.

Its just a commercial tie up with both parties benefiting. We get income, they get exposure.

Looking forward to using the Paris -> Donny line for some home games when I move there in a couple of months.

Any discounts on flights for overseas fans ;)

Robinhood > doncaster > Sheffield

Iam on the understanding on why this name was picked

Robinhood > everyone in the world knows about robinhood, even aliens in the solar system somewhere
know all about robinhood.the speak airport outside Liverpool changed its name to John Lennon airport
and that gave rest of the world an idea where it's location was as no bugger knew where speak was.

Doncaster > since its in Doncaster , but not many customers around europe or world know anything about Doncaster or its location > unless you know all about Kevin Keegan .

Sheffield > the name and location of Sheffield is far more world wide known than Doncaster for obvious reasons

Also there was a Sheffield airport that was up and running that served European city's and Iam sure
said airport was mothballed with understanding to pass on the name of Sheffield into name of new airport at finningley doncaster.

Please shoot me down if Iam wrong

Sheffield >

Should have just been called "Finningley" IMHO..

Then again, given the naming convention of some UK airports I am surprised it isn't called "London South Yorkshire"..!!

What perks did that massive league one club get when they were official partners? I do like this sound of discounted tickets.

Doncaster has a world famous racecourse, is the hub of the east coast railway, built most of the famous steam locomotives, is the home of early aviation, invented butterscotch, the flushing toilet, has an international airport...............AND is the birthplace of Kevin Keegan.

Sheffield has got had Steel. It's now got.........erm........FECK ALL, and it's only claim to fame is its close proximity to Doncaster Sheffield international airport.

Not yet. This isn't a shirt sponsor. This is just one smaller sponsor like how Man Utd have official noodle partners and official tractor partners.

Funny you should mention that .i was out in magaluff on the Hawthorne clubs scrubbers do and stayed
over an extra few days .

Was flying back to Oslo on me own and was stood at the gate waiting for the Norwegian air flight back to Oslo.

Then I noticed the que stood next to me on my right hand side and I said to myself FFS look at the state of that lot .there was all types of shapes and sizes and horror shows when compared to the Norwegian que.

Norwegian que > just about everyone looked taller a lot more slimmer and in much better health ,more neatley dressed ,no disturbance in the que etc etc .

Que to my right > looked like a zoo/circus had just turned out with al sorts of odds and ends ,overweight ,underdressed, ill looking, coughing, whealchairs assistance ,knacker scratching ,kids playing up  etc etc .

It was unbelievable looking at the difference and it got worse for me when I clocked the destination
Of ' DONCASTER' up on the board.

But one sole thing gave me hope between the two ques as the Norwegian one was just plane boaring
with no fcuker laughing joking etc etc

But unlike the Doncaster que where you could see/hear that just about all we're having a ball with scenes of laughter sun burnt bods all taking the piss out of each other etc etc.

Some Norwegian piped up with a statement ' look at the state of that lot' ,I suppose he had a case when you see a family trying to load Lilows ( spell check) as luggage ,but I stepped in pointed out that
' yes they look a state but at least they are all laughing and having a good time' just look at the state
of your boring measured que'

You be supprised to know that the said top gear presenter has/is putting doncaster on the map to
a small extent .

Number of times I have been in a pub out here have a chin wag to whoever and when asked where
I come from in England as in the main they can't get the grasp of me dialect

But when I say ' doncaster' they allways just about answer me with ' Clarkson' ,that top gear show
is shown about 15 times a week out here on various channels and times.

There was six noggys that went to the recent Doncaster v portsmouth Friday night game as they had
Days to kill since they was in U.K. For a premeirship game on the strength of said clarkson chap

I don't quite take onboard the problem that propkr from Doncaster have with clarkson

it's not as if he is a mass murderer or a paid up member to likes of isis

Christ if there was somebody born and brought up in Doncaster that did join isis and fly out there and take part ,I bet my last dollar that
it would not bring up as much hate or than what clarkson is getting
from people from donny  > work that out
