Recentit this forum has gone right down the toilet. You've got someone suggesting blowing up mosques. You've got some dinosaur from the seventies calling every woman going a slag. It's the 21st century grow up for f**ks sake!

I dont disagree but that's the thing with footie forums. The thing we all have in common is our support of Rovers. In many cases that's all we have in common. So come the off season when there is litle Rovers stuff to discuss our differences really come to the fore.

No not really, as said before I've done enough in my time but I believe that there's a time and place for everything, just remember our younger fans view this forum. As you will see English language is not not my strongest subject but I don't need to use foul language to express my views like some of the bottom feeders. I've read more on here than I heard during my time at sea.

Got to agree, today I've about reached my breaking point with this place. Sometimes there's some great discussion, and we've all seen people come together when bad things happen to our members but more and more lately the negativity and 'old school' views that have no place in this century are really putting me off even logging on to the site.

Dave, you and I know each other well and are similar on many views, it is to be expected that when our own are being murdered and butchered that we go shooting our minds off, and why not. There is no need to offer apologies, I will never apologize for saying what I believe to be right at the time. We have all had enough and pacifists will roll over easy. I hear that Mrs May has said "Enough is Enough" Again I say also that this thread is not football related and should not be on this link as it has no input into football. German Rover and Oslo have crossed swords on the subject and GR has brought here, I agree he or she should have the right to create a discussion but it should in my opinion be in the right place.

There's plenty of reasons to offer apologies for quite frankly what are grossly offensive and illegal statements. As for where it should be on the forum the fact you have greater issue with that then your mate saying mosques should be attacked says more about you than it does about me.

Your implication is that the victims, who by the way in these attacks have been people of all races, creeds and nationalities, are 'our own' and the attackers, implied to be all Muslims by the generalisation of your mate Vicar, are the ones we must oppose. Really, when all is said and done the victims are all people, just like us. Their background, skin colour etc. is not relevant whatsoever.

Also, Theresa May has indeed said enough is enough...well I agree, but who was the Home Secretary overseeing cuts to the police force since 2010? That would be Mrs. May, funnily enough.

I'm getting old. I don't care so much who I upset these days.  People who either can't or won't think, who wilfully ignore evidence, shouldn't be allowed an opinion or a vote. Democracy always was the triumph of the lowest common denominator. Even the ancient Greeks understood that. Now we are seeing it very much alive and kicking in circumstances that are waay more dangerous.

Opinions are what makes us different and healthy debate is good - there is no easy answer but we have been too soft on terrorists and people spouting extremist views (at both ends of the spectrum) - the one armed cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri should have been rounded up as soon as he started inciting in the street but the do holders were afraid of human rights whilst we the tax payers continued paying for him and his extended family to live like royalty (thought bigamous relationships were illegal in this country by the way)
This is a football forum with a page for debates like this - if people want to discuss these issues then head to that page and keep this one for rovers related stuff
The forum has not gone downhill it's just got threads on wrong page - moderators generally do a great job

Our own are " Normal day to day people of all religions, colour, creed, one head or two 6 fingers anyone who you may consider as being normal" But I suppose as a Catholic I may refer to us Christians, or being white skinned English I may say that I am normal, Racist????? I had an Irish wife a proper one and my grandparents were Irish - proper ones to from The Free State, so I will add that to the list, errr a father of two children I am a widower err I support my local team errr what else oh yes I have green eyes  err I have The Republic of Ireland Tattoos and the England flag on the same arm.. I really can't think of anything else that I could think of as normal... Oh yes. Right, I've been off the forum for a few weeks (still getting over the disappointment at Hartlepool), but allow me to reinforce what we will not have on here.

This is a football forum, primarily for Rovers fans but occasionally those of other "faiths", and we generally respect each other. This off-topic  section does get hijacked with some views which could be called "extremist" in themselves from time to time. Dave, bombing mosques? Jesus, mate, more Muslims are killed by ISIS globally than any other faith. That's like saying blow up all the Catholic churches because, well, the IRA y'know.... Utterly ridiculous and absolutely offensive. No more.

Anyone else want to throw any half baked inflammatory and offensive views into this section, be my guest. Your ban from the forun will last until the footy starts again (at the earliest).
