How many fraud cases are committed by people going into a bank in person these days? Apart from card fraud, which is tracked mainly through transactions, locations, PIN attempts and signature etc, so not sure how banning the burqa helps with that as it's more to do with tracking their movements and activity. Online fraud, scams, phishing and vishing, hacking emails/accounts etc have certainly risen in the last few years as online banking has become more commonplace. Again though, not sure how banning the burqa prevents that.

I'd be stunned if there were many cases of fraud committed in person in a bank by someone wearing a face covering of any sort. Even then, as has been pointed out many times before, it's not like the veils are glued on, they can remove them in private or even in public (depends on the person and their beliefs) if absolutely necessary, so this whole 'security' argument sounds like a massive reach when you think about it for even 5 seconds.

Has the government banned crash helmets? If not, they don't need to get involved regarding burqas either do they?

Who said they did need to get involved?

Mic- Sorry, George, for one, in the opening post...

Here we go again! No wonder I ignore you most of the time. Where did I say that a Burka ban was 'enshrined in law'? As far as I'm aware there isn't a government law banning them in this country, but they are banned in other countries.

Mr Wigerly, your insistence on trying to dissect every word of every post in order to divert the direction of topics on trivial technicalities is tedious and boring.

As far as I am aware there have been more Islamic terrorist wearing Arsenal football shirts than there have burkas? Certainly a lot more using vehicles - maybe you should start banning things terrorists use than things they dont?

You have read something about Osama Bin laden watching an arsenal game and I claim my five pounds.

Happy that you are wrong - when do I claim my winnings?

Fascinating thread and replies to it. Those people who think that someone wearing a burkha is a terrorist threat - of all the attacks that have ever happened in Europe how many were by people wearing burkhas?

Similarly with people on a wanted list using a burkha to hide their identity whilst passing through immigration - what do they use to disguise their voice when asked their name, where they are going etc?

There are lots of examples of people carrying out robberies wearing a scarf/crash helmet to disguise themselves, has there ever been a robbery by someone wearing a burkha?

Of course it it is so useful and easy for criminals and terrorists to wear a burkha to escape justice - then it is just a useful for the police and security services to use one to disguise themselves too. So if you ban them it will only make their job harder. In fact I think they only people who would gain by banning burkhas are the criminals and terrorists who will now be able to see all the people around them - which is making me slightly suspicious about some posters and their motives...

So we can all take it that you're not in favour of a law banning burquas then?

No, you can ALL take it that I am in favour of a ban on burquas (sic)  wherever it is deemed a ban on crash helmets is warranted.

There isn't a ban on crash helmets. Private businesses can refuse to serve or even admit someone wearing one, but that's on private property and entirely up to them.

No, it's a refusal of service. A ban is an official or legal prohibition. And if the banks or anybody else don't have a problem with burquas, what business is it of anybody else?

Damn me and my insistence on using correct English!

Other than that, it looks like someone is trying to divert attention away from the subject..!

#Invalid YouTube Link#

It because it's like Trump's movement restrictions. It gives the impression of doing something - anything -  when it actually achieves little or feck all.

You should put a complaint to the mods and tell 'em that You're WE aren't happy with my invalid Youtube link. Maybe you can get them to ban me like they seem to have done to N.O.F.

Hang on a minute though, they can't have banned him, can they!

Doesn't bother me one little bit. Jesus' Mum wore a headscarf

To be honest, I get more offended by women who are carrying a few roles of good living around their hips, arse and legs and yet seem to think that its acceptable to wear leggings.

And just for a bit of equality, I'm also offended by blokes who seem to think that they're Bruce Willis and insist on going out in a vest

Is NOF banned? Not as far as I know, and I certainly haven't asked him to be - but if he is, you think it's not his own fault, it's someone else's!

Can you imagine being held hostage by terrorists alongside some of the shandy drinking, Lily livered, namby-pamby, powder puff, do gooder, snowflake Jessies on here? I've got a strong feeling that instead of witnessing all the grovelling and worshipping and cock sucking I'd volunteer to be the first to be killed!

He can't be banned. A ban is an official or legal prohibition. He's just been refused service.

My guess on who requested NOF being banned is someone whos' user name begins with a G.
