I suspect we're going to lose here.

Looks like Fergie is giving some of the reserve team a run out.

It shows what strength in depth we have at moment especially defence and midfield it's a joke really we wait and wait. Chesterfield showing us up at the moment, which they should with that midfield and Alcock at LB.

May sent off, straight red on top of a yellow. Possible stamping from him?

Does that mean a suspension?

Friendly cards don't count do they? unless it's a serious offence.

Not good to see in a friendly match.

And if it's a stamping, that's a serious offence. 3 match suspension?

1-0 to Chesterfield. Not sounding good from us.

1  0 to Chesterfield only to be expected with the starting eleven and now ten. I know most are not going to be in first eleven but are they good enough to be understudies.

Some of them should not be on pitch- just shows how weak our squad is. 1 week to kick off. Embarrassing.

Not at all, only possibly 3 first teamers out there. First squad understandably being rested and not risking any injuries. Result of this one doesn't matter one jot.

Willams was limping in the stand on Wednesday. I'm surprised he played today.

Good job the first XI have been rested by the sound of it! Not an ideal final preparation but, frankly, who cares about the result.

Why are we even playing McSheffrey if he isn't part of the squad? Ridiculous.

We obviously need a couple more players but I wouldn't judge our depth on today. Clearly players rested like Rowe, Marquis, Copps, etc.

I am well aware the score or result doesn't matter, but think about it, when some of the first team get injured, some of this second 11 have to replace them. Not doing the Club or themselves any favours.

Some, not all at the same time you'd hope.

There will still be a couple of signings and it's a half team playing at half speed.  Nothing to worry about at all.

These players should be busting a gut trying to force their way into the starting 11. Sounds like some are pushing open the exit door.

As a Club, we have to take some responsibility for this sort of thing. A total waster of a match.

I am probably wrong but i thought this game would have been about giving our probable starting 11 a run out together? even for 45 mins.

This pre-season has been a shambles. And that emphasises are lack of depth in the squad. I hope the powers that be are taking note.

Started with our second best XI and were pretty even, they perhaps shaded it. Second half our third best XI were subbed on throughout and Chesterfield easily won. The only players that will play against Gillingham came off at half time. Perhaps with Wright/Alcock too.
