Has Oldham been moved to the coast?who the hell would want to move to that wet, cold, and windy part of the country.

Well his dad did... there must have been a fair bit of early money on him. I really can't see it myself though

That won't happen, hopefully they get relegated about time they end up in league 2.

DF has a rolling 12 month contract, so presumably anyone taking him has to pay compensation. I know there is talk of a takeover at Oldham, but would they want to pay for a manager as well as new players?

Bit of an odd one. I cannot see either A. Oldham paying the required compensation, or B. Ferguson opting to go to Oldham.

John Sheridan is the early favourite to replace John Sheridan as the Oldham boss.

Maybe if he promised not loose another game , it could work let's face it they were stupid enough to give him the job in the first place .

Darren Ferguson is 6/4 with Sky Bet, 2nd favourite.

Someone is lumping on him, he was 9/1 earlier today.

it seem DF is second favourite with a few different bookmakers, very short odds.

He's evens now.

This could be happening.

absolutely no chance in Fergie going to Oldham. Time to pick off a few people on Betfair maybe?

He's come in from 9/1 to evens in less than 2 hours.

The only thing you can safely assume from that is that someone has placed a bet on him to get the job.

Don't forget that the bookies had Ugo Ehiogu on the list to be next Birmingham manager last week.

With the size of the book, I'm guessing someone has put a fiver on it !!!!!

However I won't believe it until Rigo comes on and denounces it and offers to eats dogs testicles

One of my mates spent all day on Saturday telling me how he'd been told that ferguson was resigning after a fall out with the chairman. His next door neighbour is friends with blunt and they'd had a big fall out on Friday.
I thought it was nonsense, but might not be

The rumours about fergie and blunt have been doing the rounds for a bit now. When i saw the early odds 12/1 on fergie taking over at Oldham it somewhat surprised me too,but i must admit i had a bit of a flutter on it happening.

I just cannot see it. Even if he fell out with Blunt, he speaks regularly of this being a long term project, he loves how the club is run and what he's building. Sure, all that could go out the window if a decent Championship club come in for him...but Oldham? Really? I just don't see it.

Just seen this thread

Dickov was once 5/2 favourite to be the next Sheffield wednesday manager  forgot he did the famous "resigning job" at Oldham on that cup run

I remember was it Paul Scholes who mentioned one day managing Told em Oldham (after he'd recharged his batteries)

fergie is 8/13 with sky ritchie wellens who i've been touting as a manager since before Jones got the Rovers job on trial is a mere 16/1 scholes 25/1 (has a flat battery apparently -doesn't want to be in "charge")

their have been some weird transfers deals done by Oldham AFTER the transfer deadline got a job lot of froggies

sep 12
Mohamed Maouche [Tours - Oldham] Free

sep 6
Queensy Menig [Nantes - Oldham] Loan

Gevaro Nepomuceno [Maritimo - Oldham]

Abdelhakim Omrani [Sedan - Oldham] Free

transfer deadline day
22:30 - Jack Ruddy [Wolves - Oldham] Loan
21:30 - Kean Bryan [Manchester City - Oldham] Loan
19:30 - Eoin Doyle [Preston - Oldham] Loan
14:18 - Johny Placide [Unattached - Oldham]

aug 29
Jack Byrne [Wigan - Oldham] Loan
aug9
Gyamfi Kyeremeh [unattached - Oldham]
aug 4
Ben Wilson [Cardiff - Oldham] Loan

point iS to get all those froggies in their must be some sort of cunning plan - would take a lot of contacts - organisation

i expected them to improve and they won one in a row or almost won one in a row from memory some good performance away

apart from the fact caldwell won't have his compensation sorted at 25/1 he looks a good bet to continue his lancashire "club crawl" at least he's not pint sized (like Dickov) :suicide: :suicide: :suicide:.

No chance!

The bust up rumour sounds concerning though, any idea what it's meant to have been about?

That is about it. I once saw a bookmaker talking about manager betting. He was saying that very few people bet on it so even a small bet would see a big market move.

Exactly that. Crazy rumour really. These days a clear backward step.
