I'm dreading it to be honest. I know it carries the same weight as any other game, except it really doesn't when it's a derby. Especially when you haven't played them competitively for what feels like aeons.

Just hope we win. They'll bring 4200 and outsing us. Not too bothered if we win.

We've got three League games before we play Rotherham. Let's concentrate on those.

anyone recall that Doncaster Rovers vs Rotherham United whatever division 3 or 4 game it was.

Played in the mid 1980s I think and it was on a Sunday at BV.

Sure there was 11,000 or so at the game with the happy Miller’s fans been all over the ground .

They must have more than half the gate that day ,unless I can’t count

We lost 1-0 to a team that was managed by George Kerr, the goal was scored by Tony Simmons ,a ginger haired lad who also played for QPR. He later became a manager at the Post Office/Parcelforce at Lincoln. I was talking to one of their drivers years ago at a place I used to work about football and he mentioned that he was his boss ,I told him to go and ask him about the goal he scored and about being yards offside. The following day the driver returned and said that Simmons could remember the goal and had smiled from ear to ear about being offside

George Kerr > I seem to recall him when he was the grimsby town manager .think he went to manage Rotherham after grimsby town.

Rovers did get beat 0-1 I recall .

The big gate at the pop side was pushed open as we were queueing to get in before the match. A load rushed in before they were closed again. My son couldn't believe it when I stayed in line and paid us in. So there were probably between 100-200 not included in the gate.

Used to climb into BV on back end of pop side before it was pulled down.

There  was some toilets behind the pop stand down in the far corner ,where a lone policeman would stand with a birds eye view looking down .

Whenever he looked away ,you climbed over lowest point of wall into away end and then went into away end toilets ,which you then climbed over barbed wire meshing type of fence into pop side bogs.

Walked out of bogs and up into pop side straight by lone copper .

Me and a mate called Tony Humphries used to do that when we were 14/15. He ended up in the police and as an inspector was sometimes in charge of the police at Belle Vue. To be fair he did tell JR about it some years later.
