10 of us crammed in the doorway of the bar on the popular stand, pints in hand trying to get a view when we heard a roar go up.

Climbing over the wall to get in for free, or in the case of the Rossington end crawling through the tunnel below the perimeter wall.

I once saw a young lad pop his head through the hole to see if the coast was clear, look up and realise he was in between a copper's straggled legs who was guarding the hole. He was too quick for the copper to nick him!

Renting one of the "corporate boxes" behind the town end goal for a season then realising that you could barely hear the crowd through the glass on match day.

The so called toilet that was just a wrap around wall and no roof, with a trough at the bottom..

The Golden goal girls.

Weren't they the Belle Vue Belles, later to start their own football team - Doncaster Belles?

Never having to shout HIT IT, when a player was in a shooting position. They automatically did!

Denis Peacock drop kicking the ball towards the Town End net from the halfway line as the team ran out. If it went in I always thought it was going to be a good result.

The wisecracks and abuse given to the away team dugout.

Who was the manager in the last season or two who copped for a load of abuse and then threw his toys out the pram and reported a load of our fans to the police. Was it Brian Talbot???

Another smart arse from the same era has just popped into my head in Peter Beagrie.

His smugness on Soccer Night, that car crash TV programme they did to replace Goals on Sunday, knew no boundaries.

I'm having nightmares now after thinking of him.

How much I hated Jamie Patterson when he played against us

How much I loved Jamie Patterson when he played for us. Was the ultimate WUM and could teach Marquis a few things about winding up opposition
