Chaka Khan Trophy Round 2
« on November 08, 2017, 05:33:42 pm by The Red Baron »
https://www.efl.com/news/2017/november/round-two-draw/

Being held at Wembley on Friday at 6.30pm.

It took me a few reads to work out the format of the draw. However we will be away to one of the winners of Groups A-D.

Winners are as follows:

A. Fleetwood or Carlisle
B. Blackpool
C. Rochdale or Bury
D. Port Vale

The final games in Groups A and C are tonight.

Not a particularly enticing prospect.

We didn't beat them, it was a draw and we got an extra point for the penalties but I believe the draw confirmed Scunthorpe came first.

Both teams finished on 7 points but Scunthorpe had a better goal difference.

It's Fleetwood and Rochdale. Rock 'n'roll. Not!

They won 2 and drew 1, we won 1 and drew 2,

I'm all for giving youth a chance, however they're messing about far too much with this Check a Chegwin Trophy draw and I don't understand it whatsoever as there's still group games to be played at the very end of this month.

Instead of an analytical dissection of how the draw is broken draw, it'd be far easier if they just did the draw like the FA Cup - there's completely no need for permutations, home advantages, scenarios or anything else.

Before you know it, the Football League will soon be holding cup draws in Asia at four o'clock and having technical problems trying to live stream the draw on newly founded social media websites.

I hope it’s Rochdale. They have a good young side and I’d like to see them play in better conditions than when we were there last month!

And that chip shop behind the away end. Made the last visit just about worthwhile.

A Grimsby Town official has said that any losses incurred by the clubs are made up by the League. Presumably out of the wedge the Premier League gives them to let their U-21 sides compete in it.

You can see why the clubs voted to keep the Trophy. There is no financial risk to them.

I still don't understand who we're meant to be playing in the next round, or even when.

The poor organisation of the competition nowadays does nothing to help its reputation.

Away to Fleetwood, Rochdale, Blackpool or Port Vale. Match will probably be in the first week of December.
