Ryan Leonard signs for Blades

Latest news on twitter.

Does that mean Ben Whiteman could be returning to us. It also gives Southend a bit of a problem!

No mention of anyone going in on loan........yet! However, it's worth noting that Leonard was signed for £800k, with only 6 months left on his contract. And we think we can sign an experienced midfielder!

We could sign an experienced midfielder but they wouldn’t be very good. Ability is more important than experience in that case.

What is does show if you want an experienced player who is very good at league 1 and shows the attributes to be good at the next level whether forward, midfield or defender it costs money either in transfer fee or wages or even both.

That’s why a good cup run is so important.
A top 6 club away from home could net Rovers between £400,000:& £800,000 that could bring in 2 very decent players.

Ok off to the match. Come on the Rovers let’s get the job done and hope for that lucrative round 4 draw.

Also shows why a good scouting network and an opportunity to develop players is important, as I don’t think we should be expected to shell out that kind of money. We should be developing players that appreciate in value to become that.

We have a number of examples of that in and around our starting eleven: Lawlor, Mason, Wright, Beestin, Marquis and May are all good examples of players that are now worth more than we brought them in for. Let’s have more like that. And less loans.
