I was always annoyed that he never won a Welsh Cap whilst with us. As a Welsh born Rovers supporter I had been waiting decades (since Laurie Sheffield days) for Rovers to have only their second Welsh International ever (after Eddie Perry in the 1930's). There was a friendly Welsh match away against Luxembourg, and I found it on some obscure TV channel.  The teams had 7 players on the bench and 5 substitutions allowed. Steve and Brian Stock (before his first Cap) were both on the bench I eagerly and confidently awaited the momentous occasion -  and they ended up being the 2 left unused subs. I was devastated.  :(

That should be very high on the club's agenda. He will play at a higher level in my opinion, either with us or commanding a decent fee.

Better than O'Connor? Maybe as an out and out defender, as he didn't really offer much going forward but was very dependable.

He made 80 appearances in total - including that game at Brentford - before the fiasco that ended up with him playing for Ross County.

Next up is very easy; probably our most popular player at the club right now...

No way, yes he was decent but not as good as Jimmy O’Connor or for that matter Billy Russell.
