We made the mistake of using the football ground rear car park.
Got home just before 11pm.

We went on the housing estate first left after B&Q heading towards Town Centre. Plenty of space, 10 minute walk to ground and straight out afterwards. Back home in Thorne around 10.10

Parked in the retail park behind the ground, straight out after the game, no probs.

I ended up parking on Gunness straight, had a couple of pints after the game at The Jolly Sailor and was home for 11pm

Ended up begrudgingly paying for parking. Absolute murder getting out of that car park.

I paid £3 to park at the ground - took about 40 minutes to get out!

It took longer to get out of the car park than it did to get home!

Aside from being a tight bas**rd, that's the main reason I hate parking at club car parks. Almost always a bottleneck that takes ages to clear and no alternative route out of the ground.

Though the horns in the car park were fairly amusing - for the first few times at least...

For people looking for parking info for away grounds, football ground guide is generally pretty good.

If I were going to the Rotherham game I would definitely go on the train. I have been there before for an England youth International and I managed to get parked on the road near the Royal Mail sorting office in town, but that was an evening game, I think there are time restrictions on that road during the day.

The last time we went to Rotherham by car the Police pulled us over. They were amazed to find the car was taxed, insured, not stolen and carried no burglary tools or weapons. The car wasn’t illegal and the driver wasn't pissed or stoned and had a full, valid driving licence with no points.

The buggers tried to do us for wasting police time!

If you dont go by Train and dont mind a walk have a look at Tesco (link below). Its a fee as is the Council Car Park right next to it

It is then only 0.7 miles (12 minute walk) so at end 15 mins back to car and straight away onto road to Conisbrough

Would be better off going on the train as the ground is very close to the station.

If you're intent on driving, as stated there's the council car parks - but if you don't want to pay, there's street parking near Millmoor which is about 10-15 minute walk.
