Greeny
« on February 24, 2018, 11:18:54 pm by POD »
Just seen him on C5 Goal Rush and great to see him still motoring forward and creating/scoring goals for Crewe in his mid 30's.  Could he have been a Rovers legend to rival Copps if he hadn't chased the money at Derby/Leeds?

And you wouldn’t move Job for more money that would probably change your life forever
Good luck to the lad.  I hope he’s managed it well

Green has been a class player for rovers but to say he’s not a legend Cos he left to go to Leeds Derby is a joke any player would not turn clubs like that down

Instead he only managed to play in Euro 2012 against Spain. Some achievement if you ask me.

He played for Ireland. He was not appreciated by Irish supporters here but I really liked Greeny.  Trapattoni said he was his Gattuso!  If we’d kept him he’d be just what we’ve been missing this season.
Good luck.

Wait a minute, Greeny was not offered a contract by Sir Sean was he. What would you do when a Club within travelling distance from you home in Pontefract comes in with an offer and doubles (probably more) your money. If he had been offered a new deal in Dec 07 / Jan 08 he would have stayed and could have been a joint 500 club member with Copps.
In my opinion at that time it was a massive clanger from our manager.

Ok. Will try and do that if a i make same mistake again. I am making nearly as many as DF with his change of personnel.
Agree with Selby why bring on Blair. The team needed Houghton or Baudry to sit in front of the back four and Whiteman could have had Beestin’s role on the Right of the Diamond. Bizarre once again.
Why did he sign Blair if he doesn’t believe in wingers. That is what he is.

My understanding of the situation was that DRFC delayed offering him a new contract and was the main reason why he was looking elsewhere.

Greeny should definitely be included in the Legends Hall of Fame

John Fairhurst has been at Legends Days but isn't in the Hall of Fame.

Why would he even be at legends days with only about twenty first team appearances to his name.
