Prime Ministers Question Time
« on February 28, 2018, 01:41:52 pm by Donnywolf »
Just watched (again) against my better judgement

I just have to ask is there any place at all for this in theis day and age ? It is a set peice and part of the tradition of Parliamntary proceedings but ...

.... whatever the Party in charge is with whichever Prime Minister it follows a tired and entirely predictable format where the incumbent Prime Minister refutes every Q asked by the Oppositions Leader - and usually adds "if you cared so much about Doctors needing 8 years to train why were you not doing something about it 7 years ago when you lot were in Power"

Then there is the planted Question (or dozens of them) asking does the PM realise how unemplyment has dipped in my Constituency since you / we took over which always leads to the usual back slapping - yes its good / arn't we doing well etc etc

Get in Proportional Representation and make First Past the Post history and we will have less polarisation in Politics and they can do away with needless s**t like PMQ's and actually discuss meaningful issues

It’s quite a show.

You’ve got a PM who instinctively is a EU supporter exclaiming that the EU is the enemy that we have to leave.

And the Leader of the Opposition who has spent his entirely political life being set against the EU saying that we have to stay as closely attached to them as possible.

I enjoy politics but even I can see why people get switched off from it.

I enjoy politics too but the Opposition seems unable to think on it's feet . To be fair the pair of them are very poor at it and I  do take your point about the two leaders arguing against their own beliefs . It is fascinating how they have all embraced the " soundbites "  needed for Twitter though . The wit and sarcasm has gone though.

Yes long  past it's sell by date.

Guy Fawkes had the right idea, just a few hundred years too soon.
