Eh?

Who ?  Say that player is on £ 15k p.w. Some £ 750,000 p.a. , it certainly seems more than possible. How do people on here buy a £ 10-25,000 new car on finance of course unless they have saved up or been left any money - it's all relative of course.

I don't even know who they're on about. Is this a specific person that a story's come out about that I've missed or just a random kicking off about wages

Lewis Grabban’s brother has written off his new Ferrari. I think OP is on how someone playing at that level should be able to afford the car, not literally how he can afford it - with his alleged £30k a week contract it’s pretty obvious he can afford it.

He’s on a premier league contract. Fair play to him, if I was on 30 large a week I’d have 10 Ferrari’s.

Exactly over £ 1.5 million before tax , he can buy virtually anything he likes for a time at least..

Why does no one bat an eye lid when a movie star gets paid x amount for one film?

I guess it's because film stars and the entertainment industry have always had these lavish unattainable lifestyles, going back almost a century. Footballers, I'm sure there are posters on here who remember the days when the players used to frequent the working men's clubs after the game, so seeing that change with your own eyes over the course of a few decades is probably going to rile people.

How many people world wide see the film and pay though?
Groups tend to perform as expected and satisfy their fans in the audience as well.
You can pay top dollar to watch a football match and see a right load of rubbish.

With all the figures being banded about I think the OP like myself was surprised that a player would spend a 1/3 of his pre taxable income on a new car. It's just like being on 30k a year before tax and buying a BRAND new car for 10k, doesn't a new car lose between 25-30% of its value when it's driven off the forecourt.

Like many footballers his club pay won’t be his only income though will it.
It is more than likely that he will have a number of rental properties for a start.

I get to know "insider" stuff from a nearby Club and last Season they had a "hot shot" Loanee from Arsenal I think it was

He was apparantly a bit of a "flash" character and even though young he drove a Tank (Range Rover type 4x4). His Team Mates ragged him because he was not tall and asked how the hell did he see over the Dashboard

Easy he said - I sit on my Wallet !
