According to this

https://www.roversrearguard.com/news/how-tranmeres-average-attendance-ranks-against-league-1-2-clubs/

Our attendances are inline with where our league position is.

Doesn't seem like 5 minutes since Tranmere fans were up in arms against Gareth Roberts and accusing him of lacking ambition for jumping the massive Tranmere ship and joining little old DRFC. History shows Gareth got it absolutely spot on as both teams went on entirely different journeys.

talking of jumping ship Paul Cook or should we call him navigator thru choppy waters  Captain Cooke obviously comes to mind Chessie (had a good nose there)  to Portsmouth to Wigan to Everton (only joking) :chair:

He got the better of it no doubt, but Tranmere held their own in League One for a number of seasons after. In fact I remember beating them at their place in 2012 when they were top of the table. The decline seemed to set in after that season.

It set in during that season, they were top late in the season and collapsed terribly to finish 7th. The following year they went down and then down again.

To be fair that was a rare good year for them as they had been League One also-rans for some time since the heady heights under John Aldridge a decade earlier.

Perhaps similarly where he moved to Derby...and then scored just the solitary goal of his Rams career against...you guessed it

We should finish the season with an average over 8,000 and I think that's very respectable.

If we do, and it seems likely given Blackburn's following this evening, then it would be the first time we have averaged over 8000 outside of the Championship since 1969-70.

Tonights 11500 and 12000 against Wigan should help that figure along

That's very interesting Dutch, thanks for that.
So, very respectable considering the circumstances.

There are a lot of kids tickets in this 8000 though at £30 but......
This makes great sense for the club as the add ons in food buying for these kids is fairly big.
There's a little lad who sits near us and on Saturday he had a bottle of pop, bag of fruit sweets and a tray of chips. Now if only half the kids that go buy that much it's great for the club + they have the adults ticket as well. Pretty sure he always gets a programme as well.

Hopefully these kids then go on to be regular season ticket holders.

The clubs doing great things with these prices.

Our average home gates this season are the 10th best in this league.

And barring a couple of awful decisions in the last two matches, we’d have the tenth best record in the division. So it’s about right.

And adapt it to our overall league and gate position, ie down 3 places due to League 2 teams with better gates, and up one due to Champ team with worse gate, and that puts us at the equivalent of 13th position in this league, which is where we are.

More importantly, as was said, our gates for this league are up on previous years, ie those years we were promoted, and ones following our sudden resurgence from Conf.

Do you know what mate, I have a feeling that we will do well tonight, especially if Copps starts the game.
