I mean, 'Tour de Millwall' doesn't really inspire, does it?

 

I'm assuming the op lives the Isle of Axholme way out and is whinging about not being able to go down Cantley Road home, if he used his common sense he could have gone down Great Yorkshire Way from the motorway, through rosso, do a right just past the church, brings you out where the camping place is, go down the road Bawtry end of the airport, turn left at the roundabout to Finningly, do a right at the 90 degree bend in Finningly signposted Wroot, brings you out on the road to Westwoodside, and you've avoided the bike race alltogether 😜

Looking at the council map it showed the end of the Great Yorkshire Way as closed by the Hare and Tortoise. I ended up going down the A1 then through Bawtry and Misson to Westwoodside, a usual 13 miles journey doubled in distance. Look i'm not saying don't have these events but road closures between 5 and 6pm on a week day are ludicrous. It should have all been wrapped up before the rush hour so save the inconvenience to workers.

You did n't have to go to the end of Great Yorkshire way, you take a right at the first roundabout takes you through Rosso where the Pit used to be, go over the crossings in Rosso, straight on at the roundabout where the Styrupp is, past the church and then do a right turn (avoiding parrots corner), brings you out on the Great North Road near that camping store, go right down Great North Road past Mount Pleasant and then do a left south side of the airport, brings you to the roundabout at Austerfield and a left there into Finningly

You mean you follow Millwall out of choice even though you weren't born there?

Yes. Got the bug many years ago off some friends down south. I go to as many games as I can, all the northern and midland away games plus as few down at the Den when I can fit them in. Got tickets for Villa at home on Sunday which is a full house, just a shame we blew for the last play off spot at Boro last week. Can't complain though it's been a cracking season and it just shows you don't need to spend a fortune on fancy dan players if you can build a great team spirit and give it your all every week. I would have been happy with fourth from bottom at the beginning of the season.

A lot of these big money players never live up to the hype and are more trouble than they are worth with their over inflated egos and bad attitudes.

Yes they were, but the timings were out, cost us a lot of business on Taxis

I belive so, I saw the Womens race going throuh dunscroft, and then watched the mens race on TV, the ariel pictures from the TV helicopter were interesting, you had lovely scenic pictures of Sykehouse church, St Cuthberts Church in Fishlake, derelict Hatfield Colliery and the pit tip as it went through Stainy and Dunscroft, and then St Lawrence Curch Hatfield 😀😀😀
