I still maintain it would have been a different outcome if Beckford had played.
One of the L**ds players said that they know they are better players than Rovers and were confident of victory. There's nowt wrong with having confidence of course, but it does help if it's based on truth! They went into that game with false confidence and it showed throughout the game.It's great looking back to the occasion and the great team we had, but at the same time it's heartbreaking comparing us now.
To be fair to Leeds they did have a 15 point deduction that season and still got in the playoffs, without that they would have comfortably gone up automatically.Which makes it even sweeter that we beat them

Big credit to Sam Hird that day too, he’d not been in the tram long since Lockwood’s injury and kept Freedman nicely in his pocket. Time plays tricks on the mind but barring that shit towards the end that whistled past the lost it was as comfortable a 1-0 as you could get.
