Forgotten local bands
« on June 01, 2018, 09:07:18 pm by roversdude »
Just been driving through Germany near Dresden and it set me off thinking about local bands such as Dresden Bombers that never quite made it
I’m sure there must be loads of examples

Will never forget Bitter Suite. They were brilliant. The singer Baz had a voice to match Paul Rodgers.

The ones closest to making it were probably Niteskool

Black Spiders were terrific, saw them live a couple of times. Put out some really good albums, but I believe packed it in as a group in the last year?

RA wasn’t aware they’d split although having not seen them advertised on any of the stages at recent festivals I did start to suspect that had happened

Went to their final ever gig as a band at Corporation about this time last year. Brilliant band, shame they split up, had some fantastic songs. If they'd been about 30 years ago they would be massive.

The Marys, rock band from the early 90s.
Won the Scunthorpe Rock Open in 91 (I think) and were always playing at the Jug over the North Bridge.
Got a couple of good write ups in Kerrang! too.
