Sounds another entertaining game?

23 efforts on goal.. that’s enough to win two games away from home!

The difference between a poor penalty and a cool well taken one can be down to luck and the keeper going the wrong way..

Disappointing, but at this stage of the game hardly earth shattering..

However.. need to hold on now!

I disagree unless it’s someone taking them who you can tell waits for the keeper’s movements...Le Tissier springs to mind. Generally a good penalty taker finds the corner or close enough with sufficient power for it not to matter if it’s not quite precise enough - I don’t think I’ve ever seen Marquis take a penalty like that and he’s missed a few for us now.

No need for a meltdown given we won and it’s fantastic to start the season with three on the spin, but he shouldn’t be on penalties as it will cost us in the future.

Reports on social media from those at the game suggest we were impressive.

“Bad penalty” per the BBC. I love John Marquis, probably my favourite Rovers player since Billy Sharp but I wouldn’t have him anywhere near the penalties in any game (and cI have a wedge on him being the league’s top scorer)

I agree.
BBC says he took it left footed which is highly unlikely.

As it only finished 2-1, I’m now awaiting the first negative comment of the evening!

Utterly dominant said Tom Biltcliffe on RS.

Weird to describe a 2-1 win as a hammering, but we blew them away. Their goal was their only decent effort and it was a freak. On another day, with the penalty, and Wilks and May missing sitters, it could have been 5. We absolutely dominated them.

Dingles  got beat as well.

Oh and Celtic can concentrate on the league as well, out of the CL.

Ok, let me be first: we still haven’t prevented Scunny from scoring against us since 1995!

Lad went, said it was a decent penalty in corner but keeper went early and guest right to make a very good save. Said we should of had at least 4 or 5 but it's early days yet, when we do gell though, someone's going to get a right hammering.

Playing well,
Wilks missed a one and one and we’ve had a few decent chances.
Crowd trouble was mainly down to piss poor organisation

How do you mean? Did the organisation provoke anything?

In my experience crowd trouble stems from a few idiots regardless of which team they follow..

Because they closed the right hand side block of seats. There were more fans than available seats due to people just paying on the gate. People were just stood in the gangway everywhere. We were asking for them to open the closed section they said no.
Then around 100 of the Burberry brigade turned up around 20 mins in and they opened that section for them putting all our idiots immediately next to all their idiots

Great win always nice putting one of them. Sounds a difficult mom to pick and 8 goals in 3 games is a great start to this season RTID
