Brilliant Team Goal nearly matched when Wilks rolled that one wide of the far post. I predicted 3-0 but am I bothered (yes in truth I am) but what the hell its great to see the stuff we are playing typified by that second goal especially !

Yep that would have been superb and can't help feeling sorry for him as he really deserved it . Thought he played out of his skin today .

Great performance, quite O'Driscollesque on occasions.

Great performance, quite O'Driscollesque on occasions.
Seems to me we have three elements fermenting nicely: the quality of some of SO’D, the pressing and urgency of Penney and the steel/ resolve of the Saunders/Flynn/Corporal team.

That sounds like a team with ingreadients for success.

Another great win & the second was a joy to watch. If I'm being ultra critical I thought we looked a bit flat today especially in midfield, Bradford seemed to have a bit more energy than us at times & won a lot more 2nd balls. Our front three were the difference today, well done lads.

We played well for the last 20 minutes of the first half and the first 20 minutes of the second. We won the game and then tried our best to throw it away. At times, we were very sloppy and rode our luck a few times.

The manager has banged on about being ruthless this week and we showed that for the 2 goals, but how many more could it have been if we had maintained that ruthless stresk?

Thankful we saw it out, but that was far from easy at times.

As good as I’ve seen at Keepmoat. Absolute quality.   If he keeps this up the vultures will be hovering

I wouldn’t say we were flat. What I would say is we don’t have a natural ball winner in midfield. Having said that Whiteman, Kane and Blair are doing a pretty good job considering they are all in the main creative players.
Just a word for Matty Blair as he is slowly starting to show he can play in a 3 in midfield, contrary to what I was saying in previous threads.
The way we play now means we are always going to come under pressure if we lose the ball when we are on the offensive, as we dont have a holding defensive midfielder.
So 3-1 or 3-2 scores are likely to be frequent this season.
I don’t think we will keep more than 10/12 clean sheets.
But if we score more than we conceed then I don’t care because the football is quite exquisite at times and is a joy to watch.
Long may it continue.
We are going to surprise a lot of people this season and a top 6 place at least is a certainty if we can keep this level of performance going throughout the 46 games.
We won’t lose many that is for sure.

My mate at the game said “Premier league that” when the second goal went in.
It was a class, fast moving creation and a superb finish by Marquis.
Maybe John Hendrie will nominate it as his goal of the day on Calendar on Monday.
I can’t believe how much I am enjoying watching us this season after being bored stiff watching us play in the second half of last season.
