Marquis..

Sharp was a great player for us, and at a higher level, no doubt, but Marquis is in his prime now and has that extra bite to his game..

No, unless we get Billy and some extra cash in the deal to invest in more quality.

That wouldn't be just any strike partnership, it would be an M&S strike partnership.

I would be happy to have Sharp back (not at the expense of losing Marquis) because he has the knack of getting the tap ins.
Him and JM would virtually guarantee us the title.

Sharp without doubt. Different quality, still.

Sharp 8 years ago when he had resale value. Marquis has his flaws, his passing is shocking.

Marquis for Billy Sharp?
Taken from the link further down and about somes up this thread !!

“A mate of mine just sent me this link to a thread on a Rovers forum where they’re discussing whether or not a swap deal for John Marquis would be a good deal or not”. https://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=267403.0

“God bless em, they’re delusional, or would anyone entertain this idea? Marquis is highly regarded around these parts & what I’ve seen of him, he had got talent, but no way would I want to swap him for Sharp”

Prefer marquis and Wilks personally. Billy was fantastic for us but those days are gone imo. No disrespect to billy though he was amazing 😀⚽️

Billy Sharp, without a doubt, but like others have said imagine the pair together up front... that would be a lethal partnership!

Their thread talking about us talking about them is twice the size of our thread talking about them in the first place.
But we're the deluded ones?

As for sharp, no thanks we had his best days when we were in the champiobship. He's past it now.

Having said that, 5 million up front plus sharp, plus add ons, I'd think about it.

As for them thinking they could sign him easily, dream on.
They would have to use the money they got for brooks.
Sign him, maybe. Easily ?

To be fair, Sharp is still knocking em in at a higher level. But he rarely plays 90mins now.

Marquis is approaching his scoring rate. And he plays pretty much every minute of the season. And he leads the line better than Sharp did.

Sharp's days are numbered. Marquis has another 4 years plus at his peak. I'm happy with things as they are.

Billy is a blade through and through, and is still doing a job for them..

We had great times with him here, but times change..

If the Blades want Marquis, I guess it would only be easy to get him if they splash the cash, but that’s the same for any potential buyer..

We'd need to play Sharp with another striker to lead the line so i wouldn't swap because in that respect Marquis is 2 in 1. But obviously both together would give us the title i reckon. Shame it won't happen!

Billy has scored 4 in 8 Championship games and none (0) have been penalties.

He will never make double figures though.

And another for Marquis. Two top strikers performing at the height of their game right now.

Won't score 10 at that level though.

Two more league goals tonight for Sharp (neither penalties) giving him this season seven league goals in ten league games - none of them penalties.

Over the hill though. Will never get double figures in Championship.

He has just put away his third. Now eleven goals in total and ten of them in the Championship. None of them have been penalties.

He will never make double figures this season.

All this talk about sharp is rubbish. We need a left back right back and another center back.

Marquis wouldnt score many in the championship IMO. I like him dont get me wrong but if we got a good price for him I wouldnt hesitate to cash in and try to get Norwood from Tranmere.

I will be surprised if John does not get sold at the end of the season, def if we are relegated or stay in this league.
