Macclesfield Town
« on October 12, 2018, 07:37:36 pm by The Red Baron »
If they lose at Tranmere Rovers tonight they will equal a League record for most games played without a win. They did not win in their last 23 league games when they were last in the Football League (2011-12). This season they have not won in 12 games.

The record is 36, Derby County between September 2007 and September 2008.

Derby will be loving  this. The game next week at home to Carlisle doesn't look any easier.

29 mins in and for Macclesfield, 0 shots at all and 39% possession... though they did have a disallowed (own!) goal.

I should of course have said if Macc don't win tonight they will equal the record. 0-0 at half time.

Looking up for them though.
Up to 52% possession at half time.

Even if they get the record it's not really a genuine one. Two different seasons spanning several years compared to Derby where they were actually consecutive games.

Tranmere won 1-0, so that's the record equalled.

when Lincoln luckily beat them away a few weeks ago with a last minute winner they described them as a "horrible team" but yates has now exited the gates  so expect they have MAYBE changed their style (if they had one ) ..   could say yates is out to grass

I have to agree with RA, on one level, yes the record is equaled, but one split by seasons because someone feels that other leagues don't count has no meaning. I can't see that this counts. Derby are still the worst side ever, and we helped with that  :scarf:

If it were me were editing a records book, Derby would have the record, but Macclesfield would be added as a footnote.
