Refreshments
« on October 23, 2018, 01:51:16 pm by roverstillidie91 »
Was looking through the Chorley ground on the footballgroundguide.com when I came across a review from a Wycome fan.

He stated this..

I didn't eat at the ground owing to a lack of a vegan option, which was disappointing, but that would be my only complaint.

I wonder if there is any demand for vegan options on the concourses according to any feedback by the supporters? just a thought

To be fair I used to think that but have a family member with multiple allergies.  Amazing how little care is taken by places to address this, particularly given the recent pret issue.  I wonder if I asked about allergy information on the concourse if I'd get it? I suspect not.

Realistically I wouldn't bother I just take food for them myself but it shouldn't be that way.  It's amazing how many things are in foods you wouldn't expect.

I read that Forest Green Rovers is the first vegan only club in Britain.

Every club should be offering vegetarian food options, it's not difficult in today's climate and there are more people with this dietary preference than ever.

That said, what gets served at the concourse barely qualifies as food anyway..

To be fair to them they did address some of the catering issues that we met about last time, the food they actually serve is stocked better, the service level was addressed to cut down waiting times and the signage was addressed as was the broken fridges that kept the drinks cold..

As for the range and quality of the food, tbh they didn't really have any interest in talking about that I'm afraid...

Why should they, they're running a business, trying to make it pay.  Servicing the wants of the smallest minorities won't pay.  I'd like them to serve steak & kidney pies, I'd buy every time if they did but clearly my taste too is on the list of minorities not worth catering for.  So, to borrow a phrase from the Brexiteers, I have to 'get over it'.

You might be surprised how many people are vegetarian nowadays. Certainly the number grows every year, and most food businesses are seeing this and increasing their menu options for vegetarian customers. Football shouldn't be any different.
