The WORST TV Comedy
« on October 26, 2018, 04:00:15 pm by Donnywolf »
OK seeing as I am starting it
Last of the Summer Wine (never seen a bath go downhill so many times like the Prog)
Keeping up Apperances (I had Lady cousins named Rose Daisy and Violet and still didnot find that funny)
Open all Hours (Ronnie Barker was ok - Granville was OK)
Still Open all Hours (how is it on its 5th Canned music series already)

err thats it !

Yes a bit biased there as some will have spotted - BUT - there was nowt wrong with Rosie (from the same stable) or its predecessor "The growing Pains of PC Penrose) mentioned on here

Some bits filmed in Rosso and Moorends https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosie_(TV_series)

I'll agree with all the Roy Clarke disasters. How he's got way with it for so long I'll never know.
My Family must be a contender too.

Still Open All Hours is my current worst, but my classic worst is On The Buses after Reg Varney left the programme.

I suppose you can have betting without the favourite. I presume Miranda isn't supposed to be funny, because it certainly isn't.

Agree, Miranda is rubbish ,as for the Mighty Boosh that is totally garbage. Noel Fielding is just not funny with his “wacky “ and “way out “ clothes he wears is just a gimmick.
He would be one of the first against the firing squad wall come the revolution along with
Richard Madeley
Jo Whiley
James Whale
Fiona Bruce
The woman who’s name escapes me who does the political interviews on the BBC
Graham Westley
David Warner
Steve Cotterill

Sorry for digressing from the original topic.
Rant over.

Seinfeld is utter gash.

Remember once watching an episode with our kid in an airport bar in the States. We managed to predict every tired punchline about 10 seconds before they said them.

Dull as f**k and manufactured dull at that.

British equivalent was The IT Crowd. Laboured, predictable shite.

Come on DW.

Those three comedies were wonderful British farces. Comedies of manners, based on the British obsession with the class system and with foreign stereotypes.

Plus, any writer who could weave in jokes about Mollie Sugden's pussy every week deserves a knighthood.

Farces yes for sure -and  the ones in my OP also fall into that bracket I suppose and I guess that just sums up my "kind" of humour. I like the more ironic word play stuff or satire mostly.

One mans meat I suppose !

Selwyn froggit, magic our Morris! Garbage.

I used to live round the corner from Bill Maynard back in the 70's.  Great bloke in person, and very funny too.  Used to drink and play skittles in the local club.

I always imagined him as a top bloke, he seemed very natural on telly.
The problem was they tried to construct a sitcom around him which just didn’t work.

Is it not one of the most watched programmes over there? God knows how but it’s clearly got quite an audience.
