Selection

GM has blamed himself for the team selection last Saturday, saying that he got it wrong, and that the changes he made for the second half greatly improved the team.

Would this suggest that J.Anderson and Taylor might start at Charlton in place of Crawford and Wilks?.

I think Taylor is worth a start, I’ve been impressed with the cameos I’ve seen of him. His fitness might be an issue, though, and maybe that’s what’s holding him back.

Horses for courses was the issue, rather than prime first 11 choices per se. That, as well as I think him roughly lumping in the mistake on formation for that first half into his comments.

Fair play to him, I think you need to change things now and again we have become to predictable and easy to play against

In GMs first half formation in all our games the midfield three are the important part. When those three work then the team plays well. Those three close down the opposition and start off the moves. It allows the two fullbacks to get forward.

On Saturday GM got it wrong it may be only one player in AC but he is not a centre three player. That means the other two have more work to do.
The wide front players in our system do not assist defensively makes for exciting games but if you don’t take chances then most times the team will lose. .

So Saturday Blair will be be back in the midfield three. If we start that way.
Or will GM change the system as he does in the second half to accommodate and get  the best out of Coppinger and when he comes on Taylor.
