What happens between one of our fans and the ball boy?

Apparently the fan spat at him. Absolutely vile. Alfie May saw the incident and took care of the lad.

WE can't put up with this, a ban for life should be dished out with an apology from our club!!!

if it can be proved  of course.

What the absolute f**k.??

What on earth possesses anyone, especially after we have won 4-0, to think it is ok to do that.??

What a stupid Kitson.

I hope the culprit is identified and dealt with as the law allows..

This is a disgrace and tars our club’s reputation..

Sounds like the club and other fans are already on the case to identify the scum!

Good, get them banned for life.

Some absolute pondlife following us around to away games, here's the epitome of it. Embarrassing for the club, and good on McCann and May for making sure the kid was helped out with this very unsavoury incident.

To tell you the truth I am not surprised, we have a small group of kids who do behave badly at away games.

You only have to read back comments on this forum to know that we have good supporters who no longer go to away games because of this sort of behaviour.

I fully support our managers comments and his suggested action.

I would also like the club to offer a solution to this long standing problem and our supporters to fully accept it, it must be a joint effort, it can't be ignored anymore.

It take stupidity like this to get clubs fined and supporters band . There can be NO excuse for this . When our manager felt the justification to lambast the fans before he could praise the team says it all . Root these idiots out and name and shame them ,  so they can feel the shame we all feel .

This will be resolved if the fans who witnessed it have the balls to report it.  This isn't gassing up, this is doing the right thing!!! Our clubs reputation has been tarnished, let's put it right!!

I'll never forget Swindon away a few years back when some young lad came up to me (pre-game in the away end) and asked me who I was supporting.

"Rovers, obviously"

"Yeah but we don't need your type here. You posh chino wearing Kitson"

Same as every club I'm sure but we have some real scumbags following us.

I posted on Twitter

The vast vast majority of Rovers Fans will deplore this behaviour - and that same majority will be a) embarrassed by the shame brought on the Club b) would apologise to the Lad involved and c) support the finding and banning of the "fan" that did this

Hope that will sum what perhaps everyone except about 10 "Fans" will be thinking

I'm actually shocked and surprised by this.

It's common knowledge that we have our fair share of scumbag types who follow us away from home. Even so, I never thought that this behaviour extended to spitting at children.

From the BRFC forum:

A truly appalling act.

An excellent response by GM and AM

Last few away games I've been to some of our fans act worse than zoo animals. And they aren't all young lads either, 40 to 50 odd year old piss head scutters.

We have a small group of idiots who follow us away and they are not interested in the football.

I wasn’t there today but I’ve seen their unsavoury behaviour at previous away games.

But a line has clearly been crossed with this incident today and this must not go unpunished.

Probably Section 39 Assault and the CPS probably wouldn't even want to know. If he's a juvenile without much form he'd get a police caution from the duty Inspector.
In the good old days of no cctv or mobile phones he'd have got a slap. Of course that's rather tricky now if you get my drift.
I remember going to watch a Derby in the West Mids in the mid seventies (maybe Villa Birmingham) and West Midlands Finest were escorting the away fans out of the ground. All the cops were wearing greatcoats and capes - as they did in those days - and the backs of all their uniforms were covered in fleg were said supporters had been spitting on them as they were being escorted out. Occupational hazard for a cop. Not a ball boy though
