Am from Moorends, I fear no man.

What about women?

Christ, some of the women I've come across in Moorends you wouldn't look at the wrong way...

Exactly 😂

When you say come across.............

Now that's a story for another thread...

Just a thought guys - anyone interested in chipping in to get the young lad something, maybe a Rovers shirt that we could get signed and/or pay for him to attend return game

The ball boy must have done something for the lad to want to spit at him.

I find it a little odd that you can ‘guarantee’ the ball boy did something to make the ‘lad’ want to spit in his face.

Have a think about what you’re typing.

Something must have happened to spark the incident. I’m not saying the ballboy is guilty of anything at all, what he did may have been extremely minimal, but something will have happened. I spent a lot of years getting in trouble when I was younger and I know if an incident accurs like this it manifests from something else, however trivial it may be.

Spitting tends to be a reaction. To have a reaction you need an action. It may have been something as minimal as the ballboy not giving the ball back to one of our players or it could have been a verbal exchange, who knows.

He probably "just" delayed throwing Balls to Rovers players - while noticeably favouring the home Team - or throwing it "hard" at a Rovers player

Something like that - though those are speculative - and as you say someone must have taken "offence" otherwise why randomly pick that Ball Boy ?

Anyway totally revolting whatever the provocation.

I did suggest on Ball Boy or was it Ballboy 1 Question for Silent Majority that we (through The Club maybe) could make him Guest of honour at their next visit - and we the Fans could Crowdfund his Fare and a + 1 ?
Can Mods put these 2 or 3 Threads even together ?

I am sure that I have seen him named on Social Media - AND the Police had already been to see him

What lead to the exchange. The ball boy must have done something for the lad to want to spit at him. I’m not condoning it by the way, it’s terriblr, I’d just like to know what the full exchange was.
That toilet wall at Brentford must have really upset the animal that daubed DRFC all over it in excrement Gaz.
Some idiots need no provocation whatsoever .

I'd be up for chipping in Wolfy. Pay for his parents and siblings as well. The club could surely put them in the decent seats and do the stadium tour and a meal. Show them and their club what our club and the majority of our fans are really like.

No excuses for me..He was a child on his own,he was hardly going to be kicking off was he!!! So that's irrelevant to me..
It really saddens me that our own bloody players had to go over to a child and comfort him, escort him off and then GM had to apologise on behalf of the club because of one of us..
It also saddens me that people on social media know who he is but they think it means they have a big set of balls if they don't "grass"..
When they do find out who he is,he wants naming and shaming and in return for anything other than a ten season ban he should have to apologise to the lad and both clubs and the fan base..
There is no excuses, weve all been young, weve all gone on the lash on a away day,but those who who have even a ounce of a moral compass don't feel the need to spit in a childs face...

I probably think the Club will do something. Just have to work out "what is the most appropriate thing" - assuming of course the Ballboy and Family are willing / able to accept whatever it is

... we DO win awards for the Family orientation we have and we should (I assume WILL) do something both to show others that we are serious (we ARE its obvious) and to show the perpertrator (or is that perperTRAITOR) how out of step THEY ARE with the rest of us

We don't even know the age of the fan that did the deed. He might be a junior rather than a boozed up Neanderthal.
Still no excuse of course.

I agree totally but I think we would want to present a unified "image and approach". The trouble with us just going at something ourselves is the Posters on here have already generated 3 separate Threads on the same subject and we (VSC Posters) are just one of the Forums dedicated to Rovers and I have no idea how many of the 7000 average ish Fans are represented here

I do agree as a rank and file fan Fan that I would like to do "something" but getting all those diverse and disparate Groups organised  would be difficult - and personally I would love to chuck money into th cause but maybe let the Club take the lead ? Difficult one all round I suppose

Please see e mail received back from Dave Parker at BRFC
Dear David

Please be reassured that no matter be at Rovers feels that the actions of 1 mindless individual reflects your club or the vast majority of your fans.

To be fair one of your subs, once he saw the ball boy crying and covered in phlegm, immediately comforted the 8 year old and took him in to the changing room to get cleaned up and calmed down. The Doncaster manager and all of his team were angry and upset by the incident and gave the lad a signed shirt. The manager even went on video to condemn the actions of this so called fan.

In summary a disgusting incident however between us all we are determined to deal with the perpetrator. The lad was supported and so hopefully there is no long term damage done.

Finally this does not in any way alter the relationship between both clubs as there are bad apples in every barrel.

Thank you for your kind supportive email

Unless there is a typo in that email, the ball boy in question was only 8 years old..?

In that case this is even worse.. regardless of the perpetrators age, let’s have the law deal with this..

wouldn't surprise me if GM was already making plans for something similar..
