Some interesting games coming up
« on December 10, 2018, 12:17:00 pm by deebee »
That could decide our position by the middle of January.
11/12 Portsmouth v Charlton
15/12 DRFC v Scunthorpe
Barnsley v Portsmouth
22\12 Blackpool v Barnsley
DRFC v Oxford
Portsmouth v Sunderland
26\12 Barnsley v Peterborough
Fleetwood v DRFC
29\12 Barnsley v Charlton
01\01 Blackpool Sunderland
DRFC v Rochdale
Luton V Barnsley
05\01 Charlton v Sunderland. Barnsley certainly has the toughest matches over this period.

It's a period we should expect to at least consolidate our position in the top 6 and possibly gain a little ground on 2nd place. IF, we can do that and keep a gap of 10 points or less going into March, anything can happen as squeeky bum time commences!

It would be nice to have a strong end to the season which we don't seem to have done since Brentford.

Even then we were 18 seconds from the play offs!

I would be confident of this if we can keep Herbie Kane, not so confident if we lose him.

Poor Bournemouth fans could be the right expression. It would be interesting to know how many stood in front of the Tranmere stands  have been priced out of watching their team play  now they are in the premiership.

Without a doubt the comings and goings of January will have a major effect on our season. It is difficult to guess how much of a challenge we can mount and sustain until we know who we do and don't have.

Full home price at Bournemouth home game is £32
Over 65's £19

Not much more than ours.

That full price ticket is about 50% more than our standard adult ticket.
Senior tickets are about the same though.

The whole game we were 2nd place, we needed to lose to drop into the playoffs didn’t we?
Although we lost at home to notts county the game before so didn’t really end that season well.
We ended the season we got relegated well, better than the year we got promoted anyhow

Yes that is true but I was responding to a poster who said we were 18 seconds away from the play offs..

I see Pompey are losing 2-0 at home to Charlton

It could all start to squeeze up at the top in no time at all.

Portsmouth are losing to Charlton plus Bradford are beating Peterborough but that's in the cup

Now 4-4 in the cup game good news for the team next playing either hope they have the cup hang over

Looks like Sunderland could be going out too.

That Bradford game looks like a right thriller.

So we're back out of the top 6 again. Good extra incentive for beating Scunny on Saturday!

I think we will finsh above Charlton and Peterborough.
Barnsley I don’t think are as good as I previously thought and although Luton are on a roll at the moment indo think they will hit a bad spell at some time.
If we can be consistent i genuinely think top 3 is achievable.
It would take a monumental effort to finish in the top 2 but nothing is impossible until it is mathematically impossible.
2 excellent additions to the squad in January i think will be enough to get us a play off position as a minimum.

Of the teams we've played so far, for me Sunderland were the stand out team who are strong in all departments and look like they have what it takes to go all the way.

Portsmouth, less convinced about but they get the ball in the right areas alot and do enough to score more than their opponents.

We can see what happens when Luton get on a roll and are excellent going forward.

We are definitely up there with the rest, if not better in open play football, so I agree, we ought to be looking up not down and putting the pressure on Luton and  Pompey.
