Hate to say it but they outplayed us today, at least up to our box. I thought we were very disjointed but ruthless with our chances

They had the best of the midfield possession but didn’t do enough with it to hurt our defence.

They didn't threaten our defence much at all; I can only remember Lawlor having to make one save. Yes, they had plenty of possession, but didn't do anything with it. They certainly didn't outplay us.

Anyone thinking we were crap today should have seen the displays at Burton and Charlton in the league.

Scunny gambled and lost over the last two seasons, now they are paying for it, very low budget, McCall is up against it.

Great to work Scunny over. A game largely ruined by an incompetent Ref (AGAIN) who seemed to think we had come to see him. However I have assassinated him on Rate the Ref

Great - get up and at them from the Kick off and going 2 up in 11 minutes or so is what Teams should do against a team low on confidence - we did but then did not go on to really screw them over

I laughed as 5 Fans of their came in late just as we scored and a few minutes later as it went 2-0 the same 5 left the Ground. :bbscarf:

Most of our Team did well and a few were in for MOTM. After going 2 up we just drifted out of the game for a while aided and abetted by "look at me" Ref Woolmer. We were more at it in the second Half and scored one Goal but we could have had more

For me the only down side (apart from the freezing conditions and the Ref ) were the Bookings again.  True their left backs foul just before Half Time should have been a Yellow but JM should have resisted tripping their bloke a minute later when  he was going nowhere - and when they all got involved BW should have kept his head as well. Both picked up Yellows - and for some it will show passion but for me they were needless Cards. Notice their Keeper who threw his weight around in the same incident and had his hands raised first did not get a Caution . Strange that

So well done again Rovers - convincing win - and badly done Ref - once again you were a complete idiot and your West Stand lino too

Great summary Wolfie

They dragged us in to a battle and it suited the, we did not need to do that, we just needed to play to our strengths and not get draw  in, but if we do then we have to win ugly which we did a win is a win ia a win

I thought that he would have been a decent choice. We will never know
He might have one well with our squad and budget and GM might have struggled with Scunny's.
I'm just happy with how it's going.

What's that they say about sides who are well off their best and win?

Ni'mind them who are well off their best and win a local derby three-nowt

Me too Idler, running up to xmas in 6th, playing well with confidence to beat the lower teams well and very competitive against the better ones. No goals against us in 4 games, 3 of them league games, whoo-hoo, apologies a bit over the top there but couldn't help it.

We could go up another gear, they couldn't! 3-0 at a canter really, just managing the game from 2-0 up., it was never going to be that pretty in those conditions!

In Wilks and Marquis we have two front runners who the opposition must hate to play against.
They are strong, can run with the ball, are constantly looking to upset the defender when not in possession, and score their fair share of goals, and are always willing to have a go with a shot.
Our problem is we have absolutely nobody to back them up as front runners.

You’ve been away for a week or so then.??

We signed apparently the best player from the Irish league - top scorer wasn’t he?  And in the DFP the other day GM says he has a forward lined up on loan from a championship side..

Oh and we have a handful of midfielders contributing goals as well..

There was me thinking all was well having just comfortably beaten our rivals.??

IDM, I admit I had forgotten about the new signing altogether, that is definitely much needed as is holding on to Wilks and especially Marquis in January.
Hopefully Kiwomya can carry on with scoring goals at Chesterfield seeing as he is under contract next season I think. We do not lack Quality, we  lack numbers with quality, especially up front, hopefully the new signing plus another striker will solve the problem, and increase competition, with players coming in who can cover our only two strikers who can actually score goals at league 1 level.

I don't agree with you but it's not who is the better side its goals that count, how many times under SODdid we dominate games but lose, far to many times
