Due to intelligence received by Humberside police.  The game brought forward to 1 pm kickoff.

Absolute joke. It's Scunny v Donny not Millwall v West Ham.

Some people work on Saturdays that would be able to make 3pm but not 1pm.

One of my friends won't be able to go now.

I travel a distance to games.. a 3pm Saturday KO still gives me time to do my Saturday morning routines. A KO a few hours earlier doesn’t..

What I mean is it does not make it any worse or easier for the police weather its 1 or 3 so they should leave it as it is

Same for me, I work in Scunny and finish at 14:00 that day. Was going to go straight to the game afterwards but now it looks like ill not be going at all and be driving by the ground during the second half.

I think the reasoning is that there’s less time for the idiot element to get boozed up and cause trouble. I’m not sure how well that works in practice though....

I’m not sure either but there are plenty of places they can buy tins of beer from so probably not much difference at all.

Farce really. Humberside Police and intelligence are not words I’d necessarily use in the same sentence.

If anything they'll be more pissed as they'll probably drink the same or more but faster!

Great. This means I now cannot go. How come we always seem to manage a 3pm kick off in the reverse fixture, but that tin pot little club never can?

Complete joke, there's no good reason for moving the time forward two hours.

Wont matter as if Northern are still on Strike every Saturday there will only be one Train an hour on that line - Trans Pennine Express

11.37 gets you there at 12.02 then hike to Ground

Game ends around 2.50 so Train back goes

15.08 or 16 08

Might be related to this - The Plough is still smashed up - maybe awaiting "special leaded windows"

So we did. I'd forgotten that.
It does seem that every time we go there it's an early KO though.

it's bloody ridiculous, there are derbys going off somewhere mosts weeks in the Football league and they don't feel the need to change the times..Humberside police do this as standard for our games now, they do it everytime we play them...Probably more to do with overtime and costs than anything else...
Another case of football supporters being treated like scum again...it ruins the day..Going to football on a Saturday is not just about the match after a week at work. It's a chance to meet your mates, have a couple in the pub before the game and chat football...A lot of people cant go now and it really annoys me tbh...

Agree - this is a poor decision

Remember a Noon KO maybe 10 years or more since - designed to stop trouble by stopping people drinking

Every Pub I passed coming from Thorne was open including Dolphin (now permanantly closed) Ironstone Wharf and Jolly Sailor.

I went in Iron Bar before the game and there were loads of other Rovers Fans in there and no trouble whatsoever.

Police please note - this is NOT Rangers v Celtic - it likely will be attended by 6 thousand people and 5750 of them will have interest ONLY in the Match itself

Give the gaffer at the Jolly Sailor a heads up your coming and they’ll open for you, as long as everyone behaves

I remember this season when we played there, there was groups of kids trying to get at each other around the pub car park just outside the ground
