Me too. Never piled into that many other folks' cars though. Or, for that matter, written the foreword to a book saying I would like to be reincarnated as a virus to wipe out great swathes of humanity.

Takes all sorts though.

Using an ad hominem attack against the Duke because you don't like the monarchy is very poor form, even for you.

Although it is indicative of the liberal left.

How do you know what my opinion of the Monarchy is?

And what part of repeating established facts and the man's own written opinion is an ad hominem attack?

For the record, I don't have much of an opinion one way or another about the Monarchy as an institution.

No surprise to see the Royalty sympathisers out in force to argue the toss.

Ok I'll explain, it is simple though.
Your using an irrelevant point, his driving ability, to attack him simply because he's part of the monarchy.

Funny how you've never brought up any other celeb/ politicians car accidents.

BS
Have you read what I've written about bad driving in here before?

I'm assuming not, otherwise you wouldn't have jumped to that conclusion. It's a subject which, unfortunately, has had a serious effect on my family.

But you crack on. Draw the conclusions that fit what you want to think.

Personally I don’t think anyone 97 years old should be driving - royal or not.  Think about reaction time, clarity of thought, diminished hearing and vision (even though he apparently passed a recent eye test).  I know they are investigating this, but you feel bad for the other driver who was hurt as well as her passenger, and luckily the baby wasn’t hurt!

I think what was more galling was him getting another Land Rover within days and then seen driving without a seatbelt. Luckily for him if he feels he needs to get out (of the castle) and in the interest of public safety, he could drive on their estate - which I assume must be acres upon acres of land, instead of out on public roads.

Not sure about hearing issues. Does it mean deaf people shouldn't be allowed to drive?

Of course not BB.  In the US we have the ADA which is the Americans with Disabilities Act which prohibits discrimination against anyone with disabilities and ensures that accommodations are made - i.e. for deaf drivers with the use of larger mirrors on the car and enhanced directional signals.  There may also be others that I am unaware of.

The point I was making was that obviously you use your sense of hearing to be able to hear if there is a siren from a fire truck or ambulance around you, or if someone beeps at you to alert you to something.  So it is just another way that drivers are fully aware of their surroundings which may be diminished if their hearing is not as sharp.
