I was being ironic/daft saying PC gone mad.

Having said that, I do think it’s a tad overzealous, losing  10% of the capacity through segregation. Understandable if we were playing Millwall, Leeds or a local rival but Palace.....

If the game goes to penalties, I want to see just how hard I can be, and see if I can watch the drama play out, I have been found wanting in the past.

OMG. That's a nightmare! Funnily enough, I felt confident with the Man City shoot out, but the opposite with Arsenal as I felt we'd had the stuffing kicked out of us with the last minute equaliser.
My abiding memory is the camera focusing on a you girl balling her eyes out cos we'd lost. It was exactly how I felt inside! That's just the raw emotion that we love about our game.

Ah, right. I don't think it will be as many as 10% overall. Maybe 10‰ in South and North.

Told in the ticket office 10.500 Rovers tickets sold and 3000 Palace.
Does seem rather a lot of unavailable seats.

1500 seats at say £7 ave would be £10,500. I think that would cover at least most of an extra 80 stewards? I guess the advertising on the nets behind the goals would be significant. But then there is also the loss of a few fans getting drugged into that extra addiction, and buying future tickets.

Gotta be a better way to manage such games without losing so many seats.

On Tuesday I was looking around the ground and thinking of ways we could maximise capacity, one big thing tha struck me is the big screen is in the wring corner, it should have been placed in the South East corner not the South West. It should have been above the tunnel where less seats would have been lost

But it was impossible at the time due to resources and infrastructure.

I don’t remember a conga since the Southend fans did them when they were 4-0 down in the play off game..

Pompey did one in that 3-2 didn't they?

If you mean the Kitson / Mick Russel game mate, it was 4-3.

I’ve gone on and on for years to my kids about how utterly fantastic it was beating QPR, Man City and Villa in the Cup. I want them to feel that same intense, all consuming euphoria that bursts through your body the moment the ref blows the final whistle.

Saying that, we should remember we’re talking about Donny Rovers here; big crowd, big match, on telly...it’s all gearing up for us to lose.

It is a bit of a fallacy that mate, about us losing big games on the telly.

We have had more than our fair share of wins and good performances over the years.

Wembley, Millenium Stadium, Golden goal game at Stoke, Villa, Man City, Southend 5-1 etc.

Be confident mate.

Hopefully, a 'party' atmosphere in the Southstand, come what may. We simply have to enjoy this one.

Southend supporters at the KM for the playoff semi-final showed how to support your team.  5-0 down and to a man, still roaring their team on.

Would be interested if it’s possible to expand on that SM? As I’ve previously thought the same as Filo, but thought the TV must have been put where it was so that the the premier club members could see the screen, which to be fair is a justifiable argument given what they are paying.

Just had an e mail from the club about the match.
It mentions that the gate will be 14.000 which is more than I was told at the ticket office.

Nio matter - whatever it was called Im glad we got it !

Good advice from the club... More than 14,000 it says and...

THE BELLE VUE BAR AND THE FAN PARK IS FOR HOME FANS ONLY.

A wider range of food on offer and music outside. It's going to be a cracking build up.

I can't remember all the smaller details now, but we did discuss it at the time. It was down to structure, in terms of being able to secure it to something, having a power supply big enough and being able to tap into the communications network as well. If you remember there was one of the smaller electronic scoreboards in that position and it meant we could replace one with the other.

SM, I can’t remember the details either but it does have one of the stadiums main plant rooms directly behind it which is where the power supply came from, there was also an issue with a fibre cable that had to go all the way back to the Comms room/control room from the screen and I don’t think there was enough space in the South east corner (above the tunnel) for the screen base, the screen and the access area that’s required behind it.
