Signs on for another two years.
Good signing for me whether he will No1 or No2.

Think this means he’s number 1 next season. Don’t think Marosi will sign a new deal

Why not.?  Every club needs 2 keepers good enough for regular first team selection..

No Marosi has not sign yet but I would prefer another keeper whose better than both keepers we have now.

Because he is a solid league one keeper and doesn’t want to be second best. He’s done extremely well to work his way up.

You can make that argument about any player who isn’t a first choice 100% of the time..

Very, very different for a goalkeeper though. If a player establishes himself as a number 1 it could quite easily be a season on the bench for the number 2, whereas an on field player has a chance of game time as a substitute, through rotation, more likely that his competitor would be injured/suspended etc.

That is a very good point NickDRFC

It is good for us as Fans that we cant split the 2. Around 55 45 in a recent Poll and though lots wont remember England had a similar problem with Shilton and Clemence who were both brilliant

I think at times they were playig alternate games but Shilton still got well over 100 Caps. Personally I was happy with either

With our 2 I am happy with either but would prefer IL as first choice (and Voted that way) and I can understand if MM does move on but hope he does not

I can see marosi signing an 1 year extension if we don’t get promoted. If we go up we need a new number 1

Have to agree, I don't think Marosi will stay now. McCann already said that 2 of the 3 remaining first team players not under contract for next season (discounting the veterans - so we all took this to mean Lawlor, Marosi and Andrew) had not agreed to the nee deals offered so wouldn't be talked to about it until the summer, so that now must be Marosi and Andrew.

I'm perfectly happy to have Lawlor staying but I do prefer Marosi. Both are good, both could get even better as they are only young for a goalkeeper, and with Kones highly regarded we are in good shape between the sticks.

I think Marosi is a better shot stopper but I think Lawlor as a whole package is better.

I disagree Marosi is the better keeper in my opinion as rather than trying to punch everything above knee height he tries to catch the ball first then if it’s not catchable he’ll punch

The whole deal summed up in the last 2 Posts and who is to say which is right ?

Lawlor came out top in the Poll being 55 45 in front but as we have seen elsewhere such votes are divisive lol

Therefore it makes sense to retain both, if we can..

We also have Jones till the end of next season. Interesting now to see if Marosi get's a deal before the end of the season.

I think the manager has made it perfectly clear that the 2 not signing (Andrew and Marosi) will not now be spoken to until the summer.

Pleased for Lawlor and I agree with Dare to Dream, he has the better all round game. Certainly, the defence looked a lot more solid with Lawlor behind them.

Jones still has a lot to do if he is to become our No2, and I think the intent was for him to be the Development keeper next season, to give him a bit more time.

Reminds me of some of our games in the 97/98 season when the opposition might as well have put cones in goal

If so,I hope he fully recovers well from the injury,Stuckmann was a good keeper for us until he injured his shoulder, was never the same again in my eyes.Hope it's different with Lawlor?

I expect Marosi will want to be a No 1 somewhere. He's had long enough as a No 2 however, I'm in the camp that thinks he is our No 1.

They are both very good keepers for us and can still improve they seem to push each other on and genuinely want each other to do well and support each other.

Would be nice to keep both and send Louis out on a loan to play men's league football.

Just have a feeling that Marko may end up leaving and end up a no 2

Both good keepers but neither very good keepers...yet. Both seem to have habit of pulling off very good saves but then also dropping clangers and neither is very commanding at set pieces (especially corners). Doubt we are going to invest in that exception Sullivan type keeper we did last time in League One and will spend money elsewhere. Maybe a decent compromise.

Both are young for keepers and will improve and the question is, who will improve the most?

For me that's Marosi, just. He seems to be very focused and determined, just that bit more than Lawlor. But that could change, and maybe the management sees that differently, or Lawlor was prepared to accept a less rewarding contract?

I think Marosi has a more stable level of confidence. I also sense Marosi is marghinally a safer bet re injuries, I think he can recover better.

Neither are likely to shine at a higher level unless they make significant improvements, they are at our level IMO.

and how much would you think a better keeper better than them 2 would cost, they are both very good keepers
