Much as it pains me to say "I told you so" this is what I posted 3 days ago. I was not surprised IN THE SLIGHTEST at how bad this bloke is

Another one like Woolmer with whom we have history. I don't think it's bias, just sheer incompetence. People say refereeing is a difficult job, and having done it at a lowly level, I wouldn't disagree. But so is being a surgeon, and if you do your job poorly you will be removed. Isn't it time to start doing that with referees?

I could name you half a dozen referees that if they were removed from the list, the standard would improve automatically. Trouble is, we keep getting them.

I gave him a 1 purely because he wasn't quite as shite as Woolmer.  Woolmer has defined zero now.

In some ways he was worse in that he totally ignored Accrington's time-wasting tactics, which started even before they had scored.

No, I just think the standard of officiating is piss-poor. It's not much better in the Championship, where you can count the number of decent referees on one hand.

There's about a dozen who really pull the standards down and Woolmer and Stockbridge are two of them. My only crumb of comfort is that some of the younger referees seem slightly better.

I posted the clip on a refereeing forum and it was universally condemned. I suspect he'll get a rocket from the assessor for that.
