I dare say, on his day, he's still good enough for the Premier League. Far too good for this level.

Best player in the league, but likes being a big fish in a little pond ,I also bet he’s one of highest paid in the league along with Cattermole

Cattermole and McGeady probably earn between them more than our entire squad.

Blair too nice for a full back, watch the Peterboro full back leave one on McGeady at the 1st opportunity.

Yesterday proved why Blair isn't a right back, McGeady wont have an easier game all season. I know McGeady is a very good player for this level but Blair never got near him. Blair is a nice guy and puts the effort in but he wouldn't get in any of the teams above us in midfield or at fullback.

I feel sorry for him. He is playing out of position most games for the good of the team.
He must be disappointed that he can’t play to his strengths.

Got to show McGeady the outside and not let him cut inside .

Once he has his marker on a yellow card he's laughing because you just dare not risk a challenge on him .

Take him out of the equation and Sunderland are half the team .

Did you watch the game Tyke? He went inside and he went outside didn't seem to bother him which side he went  He is suspect to picking up injuries hence my thought that the full back will clatter him 1st opportunity and take him out of the equation

Move on he’s gone - not doubting we are/have missed him but nothing we can do until close season and get new full backs

I watched it bar the opening 25 minutes Raven .

I take your point about him going on the outside because yes he did that to good effect .

However you can defend the cross coming in when he goes that way and it's the lesser of two evils .

When he comes inside the dynamics are more dangerous in my opinion , he can finish well or he puts it on a plate for a teammate and there is also the real possibility he goes down and gets a penalty .

He's the league one Rahem Sterling and you have to limit the damage and show him the outside in my opinion .

McGeady was class, he was finding space all over the pitch and when he got the ball he had perfect mastery of it and was always two steps ahead. A top fullback would have struggled, never mind poor Blair. Blair is effective against the lesser teams we dominate at home. He’s not the best player at this level but you can’t fault his versatility and commitment. Right back a priority for next season.

Bare minimum is a full time right back, centre midfielder, wide player for front three and central option to Marquis. This all presumes Kane and Wilks will leave.

Personally would support major investment in a keeper, but with Lawlor contract renewal that ship has likely sailed. We also seem to be struggling with contract for Andrew so maybe left back needed as Amos does not appear ready.

What precisely is the point of this thread?

Yes, Mcgeady is excellent.

Yes, we have our limitations.

Yes, it would be grand if our best right back wasn't a convicted sex offender.

But we're here. Where we are. Now.

Do we want to support OUR side or big up other players?

I do f**king wonder about some so called Donny fans.

Bring on Sunderland in the play offs.

Or Barnsley.

Or Portsmouth.

Or any f**ker against us.

Bang on BST.
McGeady should be good considering the money he is on.
