Reasons to love Grant even more

1. Withdrew Downing at halftime knowing one more bad tackle and he'd be off
2. taking off the  captain who by the way I'd be checking his phone Bill for calls to Peterborough. Was 100% right thing to do.

Why is Butler not captain. Tommy Rowe is not a leader imo. Total mystery to me.

I don't think he gets on the ball enough either to play as part of a midfield 3. It would be interesting to know how many touches Whiteman and Kane have per game compared to Rowe. I'd say Kane probably would be over double

He just looks like he doesn't want to be here.

Whether it’s Rowe, Crawford or Blair we do not have and never had all season a third midfield player who can do the same work as Whiteman and Kane. The seasons been long especially for those two in Grants favoured system we have been more open yes we scored 74 goals but conceeded 58 goals. Exciting yes but games especially away from home that we have thrown away in first halves only to see a change of system and better performance. So yes Grant as been good let’s hope we can stay in the playoffs and learn something to be able to compete in them.

Said it before - our midfield is weak for next season if Kane and Rowe depart as expected. This leaves us with just Whiteman and the inconsistent Crawford. Need at least one and more likely two players who can play centrally. Along with a full time right back, these are our priorities no question.

That’s harsh on Rowe. He’s captain for a reason and will only improve next season. (Hopefully for us)
