What's your beef ?. Just a question as I genuinely believe Lawlor would have played. What's with the overreaction to everything I post

Marosi..

He did nowt wrong tonight and he saved a penalty..

He slipped for their goal..

I for one am getting bored with your constant negativity..

You clearly don’t support DRFC so perhaps you should leave quietly, and don’t come back.?

I've supported them longer than you. A lot longer. Marco is a good shot stopper no doubt about it. But he's made far too many errors and I'm sure Grant knows it. In my opinion IF we had got to Wembley Lawlor would have played. What is wrong with that suggestion

You are probably right but we will never ever know. It will be the same as the rained off Charlton game - we will never know if we would have won

Or the Martin Woods pen at Newcastle - the score would have changed if he had scored but would the result have altered

Would the score have been different if Ref had given us a Free Kick at Sunderland a minute before they scored (when JM was fouled) or given us a Penalty when Ozturk wrestled Butler to the floor for a cast iron stonewall penalty ?

In truth we will never know BUT you will probably be able to guess what might have happened at Wembley (but  not 100%) if Lawlor comes back as Number 1 Keeper next Season and MM leaves the Club - BUT you will never know for sure

ELF !
Some on here really don’t know how to answer an enquiry or question...
They react rather than engage and this probably says more about them than you!
So in answer to your enquiry...

I believe GM would have stuck with Marosi rather than letting Lawlor steal the day....Marosi for all his faults had weathered this journey to the play offs and deserves his place,..
however,
I do feel a bit safer with Lawlor between the sticks, but only a bit.....

Thank god it’s not my call...

And some posters can’t see when an OP is deliberately being controversial or on a wind up, or having a go unnecessarily at our players..

If your comment was aimed at me you are way off the mark - read my reply where I talk about the goalkeeper, I answered the OP and said why..

I then commented on the OP’s negativity - regardless that a forum is all about opinions - his are often overly negative and unjustified..

Longevity of “support” doesn’t make you more right, does it.?

Almost 44 years by the way..

And I answered your question about the keeper honestly..

I’m not stupid and neither are most of the forum readers..

Can I ask you, serious question, if you are such an  avid DRFC supporter why are you overly negative about DRFC.??

I don't believe I am. In fact everything I say comes to fruition. I believe I was the first to call out Ferguson and was justified

Marko was at fault for their equaliser and for a goal in the first leg. He’s had a nightmare two games.

No he wasn’t at fault for the equaliser..

Even the Charlton oriented sky commentators said he slipped..

My comments are rarely personal, more a blanket statement , however when I read a comment that is aimed at the author, I tend to attempt mediation,
I am well aware that ELF appears to wind up forum members with random negative (apparent) statements, but ...and there is always a but,
if the reader is not able to see through this and lobotomies the seemingly offensive statement with a rationalised counter argument, then they should not throw more paraffin on the topic ...
Sometimes silence is the better argument..

If silence is the better argument maybe the OP should follow that advice.!

One thing you will always get on a forum is a reaction to controversial posts.!

Over a period of time, you get an impression of the amount of negativity certain posters show..

I doubt that “ Fault” is the right word in this context...Marco clearly slips, and does get a hand to it...on another day that would have nullified a good cross and maybe fallen to one of our defenders to clear..( and we would be talking about that bit of brilliance for years)

But in this case I think the Charlton player was in the right place at the right time,

I have no problem with insightful, balanced criticism.

But when someone's first posts, after an experience like last night are mean, snidey criticisms, devoid of wit and charm and seemingly intent on winding folk up, I'm left genuinely feeling pity for them.

He did slip but it was through panic and that his feet were in a bad position. We can’t change anything now though can we. Forget about it and he will never play for us again.

It appears that that pity has spilled over into words of enmity
But more importantly.....can you actually answer the OPs question ?

Shaggy

I've no idea what you mean by your first sentence.

I've no interest in addressing your second sentence.

That apart, top post!

You spoilt it again by personalising !
Controversy to one man is food for thought to another.....every negative statement needs debating and rationalising.....otherwise the negative becomes a fact....

Deep breath and answer this question;

IDM, Do you think GM would have stuck with Marosi in goal for the final against Sunderland , or preferred a fully fit Lawlor ?

Clearly this Esdaille chap is a wind up merchant but I’m staggered how people continue to defend Marosi. He’s really not a good keeper, and would be content should he leave in the summer. And yes he has cost us that tie, no doubt about it. The rest of the fellas deserved better.

Amazing how people remember the mistakes goalies make and never the brilliant saves they have made in season
A goalie makes a mistake it usually ends up in a goal a striker missing an open goal or a defender missing a tackle or a bad pass from a midfielder usually ending up with no effect on the game gets nowhere near the abuse a goalie gets and most of it undeserved as in case of Marosi last night
Not many have mentioned the deflection that caused Marosi to mess up on Sunday and to blame him for slipping at a vital moment last night is beyond belief
Marosi has saved us on more ocassions than he has let us down over the past few seasons and I for one will regret him leaving
